@bold: Same. To me, more than the scene, the fan reaction on Twitter and IG was actually a very scary thing to behold from a real world perspective. Suddenly a Twitter mob was whipped up into a frenzy, and before the veracity became clear, the virtual mob set out to attack people. It was like mass hysteria and I had to block it out.

It scares me because, while this reaction was just because of a fictional story promo, in real life so many people are harmed and killed after this kind of a phenomenon, where misinformation and misleading info riles up a mob. To me, I just saw fury sweeping like wildfire. It reminded me of real news reports I read about where one alleged inflammatory post is created and before figuring out that it was a prank, the news spreads through WhatsApp and suddenly whole housing units are set on fire my angry mobs. How many innocent victims are harmed just because people don’t wait to get the proper facts. (That’s why in the law, society has felt the need to use “innocent until proven guilty” as its fundamental basis. ) And all this Twitter fury and attack was happening just because of a fictional show - imagine if this was a real situation. Lives, reputations, so much at stake. It’s a dangerous game.

That people with huge social media platforms were involved in whipping up the rage yesterday without verifying the information … before actually seeing the episode… it was a sad commentary on humanity. I don’t want to be a part of that kind of thinking where emotion and rage takes over logical thinking and evaluation.

Unpopular opinion: I do not think the comparison is fair.

TB promos deliberately set up a MR scenario.

It was deliberately intended to whip up fan frenzy, interest, suspense, excitement. The intent was always to generate sensationalism and trps by using MR as a hook

It backfired on them. They did not realize their global audience in particular won't tolerate MR - especially this blase way of exploiting a sensitive issue for chaska

They brought the backlash upon themselves.

I feel bad for Y & W as they have no say in how promos are edited. They received backlash that was not deserved

Siraj, Geo and 7th sky deserve all the chittar for this level of irresponsibility.

I feel that both of them need sometime alone to think straight.They have so pant up anger in both of them and they need to vent it out alone and then they should apologise and communicate with each other.Only then their relationship can work.
