One of the reasons why the audience isn’t able to connect his sharminda line to elopement is because the editors have messed the epi numbers. Meerab’s prayer about ‘MK ko sharminda na hone dena’ and this line from MK were supposed to be only 1-2 epis apart.

Editors are really messing up the flow. With multiple weeks’ gap, audience cannot recollect and join the dots.

You are right because of the long gap people are forgetting what Meerab said like 2 episodes ago and also Murtasim Waqas courtroom scene was just last episode. All his reactions were not forgiving and neither did he feel guilty because a husband punished his wife for the right reasons, and the wife is going WHAT WHAT DID I DO??????

When waqas said my daughter fights for truth, justice, blah blah blahhhhhhh Murtasim had an are you kidding me look on his face, yes he too loves those qualities about her but he doesn't like it so much when she uses it against him.
