In the haveli, they use the pen and the paper mainly. In Epsiode 15, Meerab was writing everything regarding the calculations. Khans don't even have a computer in the haveli. So I believe they write frequently.

May I ask how is it living in a joint family system? You don't have to answer if it's too much of a personal one. I have always heard that it's difficult and tricky with little privacy even with different floors or portions of a house.
