I have a feeling the corniness might just work. Govinda comedies were corny. They sold with the masses. But Sara's acting is just. She clearly has an equal part. At least when Govinda chose bad actresses they were just flowerpots. He carried the film on his comedic talent. He was capable of doing so much more. He was so underrated. But that is a different issue. Sara's acting is seriously putting the film in danger. Not a single great performance after Kedarnath. Come on Sara!!! Think back to everything SSR taught you.

Coolie Number 1 remake did not work because Varun is just not capable of comedy. It is actually the most difficult form of acting. Vicky might be if he had the support of say Richa Chadda, Bhumi even Kiara or someone else who could have supported him decently..

Diljit Dosanjh can also pull off comedy really well. Some of his romcoms are considered classics in Punjabi cinema. Karan realized that and took him for Good News. He got the most positive reviews out of the entire caste. But people blamed Dharma for showcasing a corny Sardar because there is a historic discriminatory connotation behind that. Poor Karan has stayed far far away from Diljit after that. Did not even congratulate him for Coachella or invite him to his show. Diljit seems to be having a lot of issues in Bollywood. I wonder if something went wrong between them.

I like such small town stories.
