Well, what a lovely episode! Before I gush over my Saiya and the strong Sattu Uncle, let me get done with the loathsome gas lighter-Bhavani Kaku.
Gaslighting by Kaku is a difficult and distressing experience for not only Sai but all the family members. Bhavani’s form of emotional abuse manipulates the victim's perception of reality, leading them to question their own memory, perception, or sanity.
In the context of Bhavani and her relationships, she attempts to undermine everyone’s confidence and authority by making them doubt their own abilities or judgement. This has manifested in various ways, especially for Sai. Bhavana constantly questions by making critical comments, questioning self-contained in people's decisions or even going as far as lying about past events or conversations.
The effects of her gaslighting are profound, causing the victim to feel confused, anxious, and isolated. We all have seen how Bhavani too has been bruised by her words.
It is important for Sai others to recognize these behaviours for what they are and to set clear boundaries and stand up for oneself, while maintaining a respectful and civil relationship demeanour which she does gracefully. Ultimately, it may be necessary to consider limiting contact or seeking more drastic measures to protect one's well-being.
I am just wishing that someone just hammers some sense into Bhavani and dethrones her from being matriarch of the Chavan family, and reprimands her traditional beliefs and conservative values. I am glad Sai gives it back to her in her rigid and unyielding style!
