I saw this one long play that first aired some 20 yrs ago on PTV (cannot recall the name as I saw it myself more than a decade ago). In it, two strangers meet at a bus stop and decide to have sex / hook up. It had Sania Saeed and Asad. I still remember the guy (Asad) leaning against the bed headboard and his shirt fully open (his whole chest bare 😱😱😱). Meanwhile Sania Saeed was fixing her hair in bed next to him.

1/ This was a long play not a series. Long plays could afford to be edgier as they air once. Air hone ke baad PEMRA ban kya hi karega

2/ This one and other examples I remember are from a time when Social Media use was much less or it had not yet penetrated your mass audience yet.

Even if you see award shows and red carpet dresses of many celebrities and models from 2000s to early 2010s, they were more `bold' but these celebs were not trolled or abused.

Today if you see SM videos of female celebrities dancing at a shaadi or wearing a skirt or a top that still shows their stomach, you will see comments on their SM like "Is this Pakistan" "Is this Islam". They will be called names like prostitutes etc. or that they are goinmg to hell. I mean, look at Ushna and her wedding dress. So, with SM more widely available now, celebs and drama makers have gotten more conservative with what they show to avoid backlash. Ab har jaahil PEMRA ko likh kar incite kar sakta hai.
