I REFUSE to accept this
1. I want Meerab to be closer in age to Murtasim. Because they need to have been playmates in their childhood and not a 10 yr old big boy seeing Meerab baby + Murtasim has no recollection of a Nazia chachi or her pregnancy, so he couldn’t have been older than 4-5 yrs at Meerab’s birth.
2. MM have had at least 5 years together with each other before Maryam and Haya became kabab mein haddi🤡
3. When H keeps saying MK used to take them out, I’d like to believe it was MK babysitting two teenagers aged 15/16-18/19 when he himself was 25-29.😈😎
My supporting evidence because I will not accept Meerab to be close to H’s age and far from MK’s😵:😎
1. Whatever the script says later is what I will accept😎 So, closer to Murtasim’s age it is😎
2. What defined Meerab’s character to me and why I trusted myself to watch the show were two of her lines—these showed her wisdom and why she will be the deserving khaani/khaanam (not sure what the correct term is)
- Her prayer at the dargah: Keep me steadfast, don’t leave me without support
- An immature girl would never have said what Meerab said as the reason for her marriage when MK asked her in her room after she agreed to marry. She saw the bigger picture, understood where she stood, knew her limitations.
3. Her interactions with others overall (not always) show that she knows to handle people accordingly. Ex: Today’s episode about the dance dialogue to MB explanation to Maryam
4. Murtasim said Maryam is immature, bachi hai—meaning, Meerab is at least a few years older Meerab is not a bachi😛
5. The way H cries—it’s with a baby-ish face: She’s a teenager (and I refuse to accept anything else because MK was merely babysitting her with the outings). Compare it with Meerub’s crying scenes (except when she cries in Karachi asking her parents to open the door—at that time, it was a pampered daughter begging her parents+director wanted her to be 21 then).
6. Meerab’s attitude with Maryam when she finds her with Zubi in her room. The way she speaks to her, her body language, attitude, questioning shows she is much older than Maryam + she calls Maryam Jaan like an elderly sis’s love language, so she’s in no way close to Maryam and Haya’s age
7. Characters around her (Maryam) are much more naive and dumber.
8. She’s been to university for 4 years already. She’s probably pursuing law after her first degree. I won’t accept anything else.😵
9. Mee said something like ‘tum toh ab tak fully woman nahi ho like me’ to H in the initial epis. Not sure what this means but I think it was about H yet to age enough for maturity?
Mee’s character isn’t exactly supposed to be naive or dumb, although she has been made to look like one for plot reasons. Her problem is that she doesn’t know the people she’s around with yet, she still perceives them as she did before her marriage, so she’s hasty in her decisions when the people around her don’t give her the explanations she needs. She’s understanding them now and she’ll slowly learn to understand where they come from.
I’m not defending Meerab’s stupidity at all. I know she has acted naive and dumb (although every other ‘intelligent’ character has acted dumb as well for plot reasons). I’m merely consoling myself with reasons to support my MM age theory.😭
