I think IPL+constant dragging of storyline without any substance is the reason for the drop in ratings.Sai has never won over Pakhi in the show.Just because she was with Virat earlier doesn't mean that Pakhi had lost.Sai has always suffered and nothing else.

They have made Virat super intolerable...his acting and scenes are cringe worthy....Virat past crimes towards Sai...his blind support to Pakhi and not being man enough to let Sai have her rightful place in both kids life have made him already not likable ... current psycho acts only want ppl to change channel...ghum don't have a couple and definitely don't have a ML.and nobody buy his love for Sai when his actions are always worst...
