But Zubi was planning this even before as when he saw meerab he recognised her saying he saw her on pics, I assumed mariyam showed him.

They have a healthy respectful relationship. Because of her husbands early death, her son had to grow up too fast. This has created a formality between them, but the love and trust will always be there.

She chose Meerab because she knows her son's heart. She has been vindictive towards Meerab, only because she loves her son and doesn't want him to get hurt, a mother's weakness. In the coming years, post separation, when MeMu are living happily ever after with the kids. I foresee MB and Meerab becoming a formidable team, there will be love and respect between them, not this uneasy truce we see now. They will never hold the same views on many things, but they will learn to accept each other for who they are and even admire each other. MB is everything Anila isn't, she is strong willed, confident and direct like Meerab. Meerab will find a mother in MIL that she never had, and in Meerab MB will find a true companion she never had as they become friends.

MB doesn't interfere in her son's marriage, I am going to ignore the knocking problem. Yes she gave that divorce advice, but it was a suggestion not a command. She considered Murtasim happiness more than she thought about Meerab's life when she said leave her. But she did have a good point, how long can you live a loveless marriage. But once her son said 'I love her I can't', she put a cork in it, he is a big boy and this is his problem to solve. MB is not out there tormenting Meerab for not loving her son. MB sarcastic one liners against Meerab, son learned from the best on how to disarm Biwi.

There is a difference between arranged marriages versus love marriages. Even in progressive/well educated families love marriages are not allowed, parents decide who you marry. That is the culture, those are the rules, it is what it is. Now why is Maryam refusing, the thought wouldn't even have crossed Murtu and MB mind that it is because YamYam is having a love affair, that is blasphemous for them considering the rules of the family.

But this whole argument is null and void become StupidYam picked a sexual harasser if she actually chose a genuinely good guy then we can talk. MB is just proven right since she has said her daughter is stupid and mom knows best.

If a girl is not happy in arranged marriage then that is forced marriage

@bold this is news to me. If love marriage isn't allowed then those families are no more progressive. Whether the groom is good boy or bad boy is different topic altogether.

Respecting a girl wish in marriage is IMPORTANT.
