New theme with a new track!
We have shared a variety of theme songs up to this point; let's now begin fresh theme-based songs!
This time, the theme is girls' group songs featuring the heroine (the girl) having fun singing with her friends in a playful mood, or teasing the hero while singing with her friends!
Here is my choicest song, a rare one, maybe many of you must be watching the first time! Enjoy---
A fun song! Bharat Bhushan in a light-hearted role, unusual and funny to watch him behaving like a tapori hero. Anita Guha really looks dashing in her modern attire! He (?) accidentally gets into a women’s compartment of a train. Women are threatening him and he asks what’s his fault. The answer is ‘He is not a woman, and not wearing a jumper and Sari’. She asks him to say sorry to all and regard them as motherly figures. After his denial, all women throw him off the train.
Lyricist is Prem Dhawan, Composed by Hansraj Behal, the Singers are Suman Kalyanpur & Mohammad Rafi and the Actors are Anita Guha & Bharat Bhushan.
This was a really fun watch (& listen), Madhu. The music is very reminiscent of OPN's style - was surprised to see it wasn't him.
Thanks for sharing, Madhu!
Meena Kumari cavorting with a group of her 'sahelis' who join in the chorus..
Song: Sheesha-ae-dil itna na uchaalo
Film: Dil apna aur preet parayi (1960)
Music: Shankar Jaikishen
Lyrics: Hasrat Jaipuri
Singer: Lata & chorus
Another Meena Kumari song - this time she's confessing her feelings to her friends, who join hands in teasing her good-naturedly while singing chorus..
Song: Meri jaan meri jaan pyaar kisise ho hee gaya hai
Film: Yahudi (1958)
Music: Shankar-Jaikishen
Lyrics: Shailendra
Singer: Lata & Chorus
Yet another Meena Kumari song 😆 but this time she starts off being teased by her sahelis while she's passively blushing while the object of her affection (& embarrassment) chimes in from a distance. Then she joins in for the next antara, tears of impending heartbreak already trickling down her eyes, because love is just that hard. 😭
Song: Door koi gaye
Film: Baiju Bawra (1952)
Music: Naushad
Lyrics: Shakeel Badayuni
Singers: Shamshad, Rafi, Lata & Chorus
Song: Dekh Ke Akeli Mohe
Film: Baazi (1951)
Music: Sachin Dev Burman
Lyrics: Sahir Ludhianvi
Singers: Geeta Dutt & Chorus
Enjoy!
Cheers..

Not fair... not at all fair
Actually, I intended to post this song as my opening song for this theme.
I came across this Meena Kumari song while looking for something, and with that in mind, I wrote this theme post. However, meanwhile, I also came across a rare song, which I posted yesterday, but saved this sheesha song for today.
Now our Priya posted it!
