What if Murtasim is actually Anila and Waqas's son whom they gave to Shanawaz? The way they care about Murtasim more than they care about Meerab whom they brought up for 21/25 years is understandable if this is the reason. May be that's why Shanawaz gave Meerab to Anila and Waqas when she was a baby.
