I don't really understand the hate towards Meerub. To be honest I like her. She is the type to go head first, like me. She is flawed and I like that. I too have a problem with my anger toward people closest to me and have said some awful things to them when I get angry. To me, with all her faults seems more realistic and more relatable than a lot of "perfect" fl and I including all of the Mary sues in Hollywood. I'm kind of tired of hearing that the woman needs to be patient, needs to tolerate her husband's behavior and needs to make the marriage work. I mean I have seen dramas where the husband has physically, emotionally abused their wives. Cheated on their wives and was forgiven in the end. And the wife had been shown to tolerate all of it. So for me it's nice to see that husbands too have to put some work into their marriage. In real life a lot of husbands have to do that, so why only show that only the woman is responsible for the marriage to work? Why cant she take her time to fall in love? Why are people so pissed at her taking her time?
Usually it's the men that need to go through some stuff to be able to appreciate their wife. In tere bin it's going to be the wife. She will probably go through some awful stuff and will get to appreciate her husband in the end.
I still don't get why people are angry at her for helping Maryam. Like I said before, if I knew my sister liked someone I would have done the same thing. Talked to her, then talked to him and then talked to the family. What would you have done? Told her brother, when she is begging you not to do that? She is eventually going to tell Murtasim. She is not going to secretly let them get married.
And him putting a ring is not them getting engaged. Correct me if I'm wrong, engagement are usually done to announce to the family and people they know that the couple are engaged to get married, not something you just do in front of one person. I mean him putting a ring on her finger means only that he is serious about getting married to her. I'm sure that Meerubs plan is to tell murtasim about it, she is not going let them get married without the families knowledge. But something will happen and she probably won't be able to. But we will see. Can't really judge something that hasn't happened.
