Just remember - the reason many of Meeru’s actions don’t make sense and Murtasim’s does is because the writer gives you his POV and his rationalisations. His thoughts and dialogues are well thought out and well written.


Meerab- we don’t know what she is thinking. We never do and her dialogues are really badly written. Like they are written to confuse the audience. When she talks to Rohail, for eg, it’s written to give her plausible deniability not clarity.


They could have easily made her say I am not interested in you, R and still have R chase her as he is a psycho. But the writer chose to ensure that R thinks Meeru is being forced to stay with Murtu and has feelings for R- they chose to give R some clarity but not Meeru. In order to make R’s character real motivation they chose to take away Meeru’s clarity.

I wish along with watching ITV, Nooran watched Diyar e Dil. Pretty similar situation between Farah and Meerab - Farah is also a dheet but you feel for her as you are with her in her journeys- her fears, her misconceptions and her realizations are shown to the audience. Meerab is a closed book and when given some scenes her character graph jumps from one point to another without any consistency

Yes it is Maryam’s fault but still I will blame Meerab only. Maryam has led a sheltered life, she is not worldly wise,she is an innocent soul who can be manipulated easily …plus she has never claimed to be Miss Know it all whereas Meerab has had a very open ,city kind of life. Her father was a lawyer and I am sure she must have seen many cases where women are victims . Given her broad minded background, we would expect better judgement from her . She abetted Maryam ….who knows ,had Maryam not had her help then maybe she would have given this running away thing a second thought . That’s WHY it’s Meerab’s fault. It was in her hands to avoid a disaster which because of her idiocity she did not. That’s the bottom line. One can not or rather should not defend the undefendable.
