I watched the last two episodes mostly on fast forward mode. So the date is disrupted due to Reet. I liked Ehsan genuinely saying that Katha made it very clear that she has no place for anyone in her life. Still you can try. He may feel offended and hurt and jealous if at all Viaan ever succeeds 😆 Which is another thing. For the time being, he is like the typical supportive friend he is with Viaan, like he showed enormous support and trust in the allegation case. So for now its nice to see him being a supportive friend.

Aarav's yearning and realization after seeing tye new born baby with Yuvraj is kinda reasonable, I guess.

It's really really unfortunate that he never got to know his father. And his yearning for a father is also understandable.

And Katha may accept Viaan in their life only coz of this. But I don't think she'd accept him right away. Eventually if she ever accepts him in their family it's gonna be for Aarav, it's really getting obvious now. And Aarav may not have liked Ehsan, he may not prefer Viaan also for his mother, but he would prefer a God father figure like Viaan in his life.

Let's see how this goes....

Moreover, we know the whole story from OG so it's not like there is anything new left to see. I have always said this that even if a show is good, after a point the audience will end up losing interest and move on to something else. This is why it's very important to keep a series finite. This show is about to hit 100 epis but they are just starting the main story with Viaan's love confession to Katha so the stretch hasn't helped much either. I don't even watch BTS or sneak peaks anymore but I still don't feel the same spark as the initial episodes.

Precisely…that is the problem with most shows, Another thing is the episodes are barely 20 min…it’s not enough to create a satisfactory viewing experience. It’s almost like a blink and you miss. The PTV format of 45 min episodes with a story lasting around 25 to 30 episodes max is a better and more effective format of story telling. That still comes to about 50 to 60 episodes. So technically we have reached saturation point:)) I started it late & enjoyed it thoroughly cause I binged the first 48-50 episodes. I understand a daily soap story telling is not easy…in fact it’s a real challenge to keep the audience engaged day after day and if a show goes on for years it is bound to be filled with implausible ridiculous twists and turns that EK & others have made a trademark. The whole ITV pattern needs overhauling but since TRPs are working for the Kumkum Bhagya’s and audience is lapping it up nothing is going to change anytime soon.

We know prime time daily serials work mostly on TV due to appointment based viewing of Indian families for those 20-22 mins excluding ad breaks. TV serials are still written, designed, created, edited and telecast for daily viewing experience plus for bringing regular ad revenues to channels, they aren't planned for binge watching online like web series, short films or OTT films.

Some channels marketing strategy of airing 45-60 mins special maha episodes week days on TV with some hype can get audience reception for once in a while, but not daily.

Its proven that weekend fictions or non-fictions with 45-60 mins content may work better, probably because people have more leisure time to sit & relax before TV, but not all daily serials can work for that length as engagement levels of regular viewers plus time available may be lesser, to demand such concentration from them.😳 Also post covid lock down, attention spans have majorly come down. Urban/Semi urban viewers have more options to change TV remote often or immerse head into their smart phones/tabs or switch to ott platforms.

Also on which channel & what time slot daily serials get telecast, decide the magnitude of reception they may receive. A large section of viewers ONLY watch Star channels & pay for them whether monthly or yearly. Similarly there are some old time loyal viewers of Zee who watch only serials that channel airs, it doesn't matter what airs. 😆

Even if there is NO great story, most generic viewers sit & watch serials episode by episode for key characters, leads chemistry, or plots buildup, some twists even with or without ott drama when there's some connection felt to root for some characters, along with some anticipation elements to look forward to.smiley9

There may be people like me who are choosy, so hardly watch any other hindi daily serials currently on air on GECs. KA has its own loop holes, few disconnect's with some unconvincing plots, casting & characters. 😛 we voice our opinions & observations be it here or on SM.

But when KA still has some story left, more anticipation elements to check for, has leads with flaws & baggage's who are portrayed by some fine performers onscreen, above all it being a finite series, KA still garners some attention to keep watching.😎 Till its content or characters annoy terribly or give a disgust feeling regularly to stop watching, people like me may continue to give KA a try.

Yaar ye sab theek kaise hogaya iss show mein..wasn't Reet supposed to have a girl again like the OG? One of her biggest insecurities was having a girl child again and that's fixed now because she has a boy.

Yuvi has resolved his issues with his dad..patched up with Reet..broken up with Meera.

Viaan and his mom have mended their issues..Ehsan has become his bestie again..dono ne sorry bol liya one of spiking his drink and the other for disrupting his yacht date 🤔 as if they both are the same kind of mistakes 😵

Anyways, why is everything fixed so suddenly and magically?

This week took me by surprise.

The kid who plays Aarav acted so well in the hospital scene..without saying anything the way he portrayed his feelings was 👏

Even the scene with Katha and album was good. He didn't go overboard. I liked it a lot 👍🏼

Everything is being fixed..A section of audience didnt like Dodo’s sob story( that includes me as it didn’t have any impact.. it was sort of dull and flat). So that was done.

Yuvraj- Reet.. I didn’t find anything interesting in particular( I felt something wrong with the pairing, the actors especially Yuvraj wasn’t good) but they shouldn’t have fixed it so easily.

Another section found nighty mama not observant of her son’s pain which is true. How can a mother be so ignorant? So that was fixed.

Another section didn’t want childhood friend to become negative. That was fixed in a jiffy. I feel they shouldn’t have tried to turn him negative in the first place.

Now, the only people to create the drama are PapaG and Anirudh. Would nighty mama go against kaviaan relation? And what about Aarav and Katha herself? If they decide to fix these isssues like they did the rest, it can happen in three weeks time. I myself am not a fan of over the top drama but without a decent amount how can the series go forward. Someone has to create a rift to keep the series going.

I personally feel the writing department needs to be a bit more creative in creating the necessary impact. All said, I find Katha ankahee far better compared to all the rest that rule itv now. That’s why binge watched all the episodes

Agreed @saakkabc. The lack of conflict is making the show move towards a point where it may become boring. The story cannot just rely on the acting power of the leads. Even though this show is a breath of fresh air, I hope they won't follow the route of the other shows and ruin this one for the audience. Fingers crossed.

I feel Katha and Aarav's relationship is dysfunctional. The way she says that he's the only man in her life..and the way Aarav says that he's the man of the house sounds like they are scared to let a man in. I understand the fear of losing what they have. They have lost Adi and they want to hold on to what they have left - each other. But it's not a healthy dependency.

Katha should not be thinking of getting into a relationship only because Aarav needs a father. And Viaan should not be thinking that Aarav is the key or the way to Katha's heart. We have watched so many shows, read so many books where single parents date and only when they are comfortable with their partners they introduce them to their kids and that is a big step.

Katha and Viaan should not start off with the baggage of fulfilling Aarav's wishes. They need to like each other as individuals first. They need to fall for each other with no burdens..no conditions..no baggage.

What if Viaan and Aarav hit it off (even after Katha and Viaan start dating) but Katha realises that she is not in love with Viaan..what then? Will she continue to date him and eventually marry him because Aarav likes him??

Katha is so used to being a mother that she has stopped thinking as an individual..as a woman..as a single woman. It's okay to think about what she wants in a man.

I just hope that this doesn't become about Aarav. Yaar Aarav is 8..in a decade he will have his own life and he'll move out. What will Katha do then with a husband who is a good father but not the love of her life.

Maybe I'm asking for too much.
