It might seem like double standards when we judge each mistake/crime differently. Unfortunately that is the nature of humans, what we see goes through the filter of our eyes, processed by our brains, felt by our hearts and it will never be fair and equal judgement.

Very true.

We can try to be as neutral as we can but the prejudices will always sneak its way into our judgements. That is how we are supposed to be.

Never without a personal bias, as much as we try.

Has anybody watched Malaal? It's a Pakistani drama set in New York. It's pretty old..2010 or 2011 but the lead actress is an Indian.. it's directed by Mehreen Jabbar. It's one of my favorite dramas..I was rewatching it so I decided to post here 😳

All that is required now is for Murtasim to set his boundaries because unintentionally they have ruined his efforts of making the marriage work and Meerab needs to give some emotional relieve to him by being a bit considerate for him. Poor guy is literally getting mentally tortured after getting married and everyone is neglecting his emotions.

Double standards have come on it's peak as I mentioned in my previous post too that if Meerab is justified with her bratty attitude, having heart to heart conversation with her 4 year old friend, who just proposed her and not only did she disgraced her marriage but also let him bad mouth about Murtasim who actually didn't deserved it, then if Murtasim is conversing with childhood first cousin Haya and defending Meerab and his marriage life, he is all wrong, why?

Meerab has Murtasim to confide in but it is her ego to reject him. I understand that she had been through the trauma of abandonment and force marriage but she has Murtasim by her side always. Unlike her Murtasim has been through the a lot himself but has no one to share his pain with, yet he never complains. He is emotionally hurt and insecure but everyone is so damn focused on Meerab's confused pain to look at the other side. He is more selfless because from the starting till now he had made decisions based on others happiness and tried to search his own happiness between them, even if they are equal to zero, like this marriage where he is giving his hundred percent but only getting hurt in return and not complaining.

He never taunted Meerab with her previous mistakes and forgave her wholeheartedly even when she never apologized, he never expressed his discomfort upon sleeping on the sofa, he was ready to sleep on it despite being injured. It is Meerab who later herself realized that the sofa she couldn't lay on for few minutes was silently used by Murtasim for so long. Forget apology, has Meerab ever thanks Murtasim for keeping her respect at the reception, defending her infront of family, rescuing her on the kidnapping, respectfully bringing her back home, giving her love and respect? Noo! She takes everything for granted and shamelessly denies to put her input in the relationship. Fact remains that our beloved Meerab who goes around showering humanity on every other stranger, treats Murtasim worst than a human.

Murtasim mentioned this two episodes back but it was brushed under the carpet, because all of this is done by a woman and a woman cannot be toxic but a guy like Murtasim will become toxic by one mistake which was unintentional. One unintentional mistake doesn't make him toxic, but a real human who accepts his flaws and redeems, unlike Meerab who shamelessly shows attitude and continues to mentally abuse her husband who had not done anything to deserve it.

Put Murtasim and Meerab in an equation and we will get the clarity of who is more wrong. People supporting Murtasim are labelled as misogynist because the opponent is a female. Reverse the roles and I don't think anyone would have given a damn about Murtasim's if he was in Meerab's place. Fact remains that Meerab is self absorbed who feels no guilt in being insensitive, but has a free pass for being a woman. If this continues then we must not be shocked if in future Murtasim explodes with anger, because too much built-up emotions leads to terrible heartbreak.
