When people say don't show this or that it can affect people's mind. Like during time of Kabir singh or related to TB where murtu says meerub sirfs meri hai shows toxicity. It will be easy for boys to say this girls will think this is romantic but do we really get affected??
I watched ipk when I was in teens yet I knew arnav is good only in sapno ki duniya. I can never live with a guy like him. Same goes for murtasim , I am all for fangirling but I can't live with a guy like him. People don't have their own sense and sensibilities?? Do they really get affected by shows or movies🤔
Absolutely love this take!! I have always maintained this view for all those why cry about the influence of media. Every person has their own morals and ideas. No one does anything because hero ne bhi wohi kiya tha. End of day, you will do what you think is within your capacity. No film or movie can make the decision for you.
Like if a person stalks a woman, he will do so because of his own ideas and his morals and his peer group. No one says ki srk in darr was a stalker so i should be a stalker. This is most absurd. Same way, people who hit women do so because of their own conditioning abd views, they diht do it influenced by kabir singh.
Does the above mean we should continue showing stories like kabir Singh or kaisi teri khudgarzi? Absolutely not. Showing violence is not a problem. But rewarding violent behaviour with true love is wrong. It sets wrong expectations in the society. Not because actions get influenced, but because ideas get influenced. A person doesn't learn slapping a woman from movies. But a person does learn how to love from movies/books/shows. So makers should be more careful about the emotion they are selling, rather than just focus on the action.
Sorry for the long post. I just loved reading your take without any context of what prompted it 😳
