Didnt watch Ishq e laa so don't know how he is as an actor but i like him as a music director
Ishq e La was his first show and lots of Yumna and Sajal fans including myself didn’t think he did a good job while the show was on. Pata nahi kyu, on second watch, he really really grew on me. When it released I watched it for Sajal and Yumna and the story started off brilliant…I am not kidding it’s a brilliant story. But in the middle it really dragged and I got super annoyed with it… but later his chemistry with Yumna was just chefs kiss but as usual that chemistry was for 2 episodes in the end.
Now in rewatch there are so many aspects of this show that i didn’t appreciate before - especially how each woman in this show was written- each and everyone no matter which strata of society she came from, had agency. It was brilliantly done. And there was a certain female solidarity in this show which was subtly done, and of course all those spiritual lessons on love that Azan’s character gains perspective on. That finally love is not a singular quest… it’s just so deep.
I would highly recommend this show.
PS watch his interviews, if you don’t fall in love with him, mera naam badal dena
