I like the character of MB. She is not ur typical Saas who plots and terrorizes the DIL. MB character has many layers to it n it's definitely grey. She has bcm the Queen mother after her husband's death. Even anwar respects her as his mother figure (Bhabhi maa ki saman hoti hain). So no men in the family questions her authority. She has ruled with an iron fist and has strong principles and moral values, which cannot be broken at any cost. She easily doesnt forgive her enemies n is cunning and sharp when it comes to politics of ruling their land.
But we also see a softer side to her through some scenes, where murtu says that MB finally let's meerub do what she wants to do, when she cries for her son in the hospital, accepts her mistake of hurting Anwar's feeling, understands that parents will always support their children, loves Haya like a daughter even after knowing that she can do some stupid stuff. Never holds grudges against meerub, just bcoz her son has started supporting n listening to his wife. Instead she is happy that meerasim r together n her son is happy - the conversation between murtu n MB about y meeru was sent away, finally when her son leaves, we can see some tears in MB's eyes. I really liked that detailing, it just shows that all that she did was for her son n now listening to him talk back to her, she is hurt. But no where did, she take it as an insult n start hating meeru. All I see is a mother wanting the best for son and family.
Anwar, reminds me of Bairam Khan, who took care of Jalal n was a father figure to him..
