..just meant due to wind it spreads more. The reporter was saying due to wind it's still spreading.

Tbvh… they are super lucky and Gods gracing them… to get 1000s + people evacuated in such a wild fire is a miracle! All safe and sound!

First news started coming in at 2-3 pm... people started returning by 4-5 pm.... we got confirmation he is alive at around 8 pm. He returned home at 11 pm that night.

I cannot explain the anxiety for those few hours.

Me too... I was in grade 3...

Surreal part is Dad was shifted to a new dept few days back so we didnt knew his new colleagues and whom to contact. But he had taken a medical leave few days before this and I had gone with him to give the application to one his colleague.

It was me who took mom to that colleagues home and he told us that Dad was so busy that day that he didnt even leave his chair, had no lunch... but the fact that he saw him alive by 5 pm was all we needed to hear.

I couldn't understand the implication of what had happened but the fear was palpable. That much I could get seeing everyones faces.
