Loved Wahaj's expressions here......Murtu was confused, surprised and a little bit happy that Meerab said that, then the constant staring was so well done.

the concept of no means no doesn't exist for married couples in the conservative wings of our society. In arranged marriages women are expected to consummate the marriage on the first night itself. Even in very educated upper class families this happens women are under pressure to just do it on the first night. No one cares if she is comfortable, or how traumatic it would be for her if she is not emotionally ready. i know the pressure is also on the men, but lets face it this affects both genders differently.

This is probably one of the rare dramas where this issue is being highlighted. The no sex thing is used as a comedic punchline by reviewers, and even by us audience are mocking it, but if think earnestly it highlights a big problem of how a woman emotional needs are irrelevant in comparison to a man's desires.

And it's obvious Meerab is trying to buy time for herself, even if she thinks of running away from him and their marriage, she will still need time for that. Murtasim being relentlessly patient, at the same time, trying to pursue her in a way that not only her body, but her heart gives in, is making her stay and not run away further. I bet if he started forcing their relationship on her from the very first day, Meerab is the kind who would have revolted and ran away by now.

The concept of no in marriages is such a heated topic in our society and country right now. There are cases running in Supreme court to pass judgement over it. Women are expected to never say no to their husbands.

So yeah, I will give a cheer to the show for highlighting this physical proximity issue, no matter how over-the-top the show is otherwise.

Zan means women/wife and Zar means money/property.
