Except MamaG, Dodo and Guni Maa, no one wears Indian cloths. I think Katha wears kurtas at home.

I am at peace with that. we can't get everything so realistic guys. Better to be happy with what we are getting

at least in regional serials, you see lot of indian wear at work. I also think those makers are smart in that they get sponsorship from local shops. so there is a huge variety of clothes within the cast and it all depends on the character. I have no idea why they don't do such marketing tie-ups in hindi serials -- people will make money, get advertisement and viewers will see a variety of clothes.

yea I suppose I should see it as creative license but it still annoys me. sometimes, we don't see the impact of such a minor detail. back when mars mission was successful, this photo went viral.

it turned out to be staff support but still people were surprised to learn that there were high level women scientists in ISRO involved in the project and yes, they all showed up in their silk sari/salwar best for the event.

I remember reading this article by a NASA engineer who was so taken aback by this photo and she talked about the chatter that happened among women engineers on seeing women dressed up and totally flaunting their ethnic wear at a huge scientific milestone. because higher levels of science is obviously dominated by men, dressing up is avoided in order to be taken seriously. so, the photo really stood out to them and was shared widely within women in science. it was one reason this news photo went viral.

so when I think of angles like that, I do think it is important for regular serials to show that it is normal for women to wear all sorts of styles to work. it does not mean that you have to wear only western wear if you have to go to office. you can work in male dominated fields like architecture and engineering and still wear whatever your personal style is.

The portrayal of women on itv is very regressive.

They are either made to take every injustice in the name of sacrifice and being ideal naari or made as vamps planning and plotting whole time.

There is no normal woman on itv.

In this show I sometimes wonder how they will take forward kaviaan's relationship. Katha is mature woman. She may not want to involve with someone romantically and settle down with him as she has many issues regarding it, aarav being top most priority among them.

But can she avoid the attraction she feels or will feel once viaan confesses his love? They have already done the deed so will she be open minded enough to take that step and willing to succumb to that mutual attraction? A woman has her physical needs as much as a man has. Will katha be bold enough to go on that path? Which would be very normal in katha's case.

Will makers take that risk of portraying normal woman or they will go on tried and tested way of showing her as mahaan naari who never leaves her maryada.

Nahi yaar mera goal to shuru se hi clear tha. Mujhe toh episode one se hi viaan chahiye tha. Koi parwaah nahi wo kitna kameena tha. Kyunti itv mein kameene ladke hi aage jake hero bante hain.😆
