End of the day, men like murtasim confuse choice and consent. Just because he asked her if she agrees to their marriage, he thinks now her job is to listen to him. He is like you have learned to be independent in 4 years, I learned this on my own…I am like bhaisaab she learned it with many people, many thoughts, many minds, that’s why she can pull you down too. If you listen to the whole exchange between the woman who has come from malik and murtasim…you realize in so many ways there is no difference between Meerab and this woman… except Meerab stands up for herself…and while Murtasim thinks it’s badtameezi it’s actually his discomfort in accepting that she has a voice and will use it.. He sees himself as a savior, he cannot imagine giving that role to his wife.

The problem now is this will never be addressed as an issue of patriarchy by the show. They will separate the two, the two of them will pine for each other, we will love watching that. And along the way, even if she is misunderstood to have an affair with Rohail, unless Rohail says that they didn’t love each other, no one will believe her.
