It looks like he is simply trying to tame her. Taming of the shrewđ

I have noticed a lot of people mentioning this. My point of view is that making him sign the âcontractâ was to bruise his ego and insult him. The âcontractâ says that they wonât have an intimate relationship after the marriage. But what does this mean? It means that she doesn't want to be his wife and she believes that he wonât be able to control himself. Insinuating that a no from her wouldnât stop him and that's why she needs him to sign a contract. To insinuate something like this would be really offensive to any decent person.
I donât really think this is something she herself believes, but it was meant to hurt his ego. This contract put him in a spot where he needed to choose between his family's reputation and his self respect. Like shown a lot of times in this show, he choose his family's reputation.
I believe Meerab to be a person who has a lot of self respect and doesn't care about what other people say. But Murtasim isnât shown to be like this. He cares a lot about his family's reputation and puts this above a lot of other things. This is probably something Meerabs hates about him. I also believe this might be the reason he lost his love.
For her to ask permission from a man she doesn't like or respect, would hurt her ego and her self respect. Her self respect isnât something Meerab would compromise. Seeing Murtasim doing this, made her probably dislike him even more.
(English isnât my first language, I hope this is understandable).
@bold lol nah! Meerub just a brat. She got him to sign the contract bcoz she wanted to âpunishâ him as for the first time in life she didnât get what she wanted & she knew he would give in to her drama.
Also bcoz the makers have somehow connected Meerubâs immaturity to her not accepting Murtasim. Basically a âhe will make a woman out of herâ misogynistic crap.
Remember when Murtasim said âsabko bataou contract ke baare meinâ she got scared & gave THE most bratty answer ever - âmain kisikey baap se nahi dartiâ & when he shut her up with âmujhse daro blah blahâ she got even more scared.
She keeps throwing tantrums in front of Murtasim but doesnât open her mouth in front of Maa Begum or anyone else, bcoz deep down she knows only Murtasim will tolerate her bad behaviour. One second she is like âstay awayâ & when he does, she goes âkal raat kaha thay?â This just makes her look like a spoiled child looking for attention.
And all her precious âself respectâ goes out the window in front of Haya, whom she also âhatesâ for no reason other than that Haya likes Murtasim & rubs it on her face.
Her âMujhe nahi lagaogi mehendiâ, âmain tumare cousin ki hone wali biwi hun, yeh sab sajawat mere liye hâ & âtumare saath toh do lamhe tha, mere saath toh woh har pal hota h blah blahâ was so embarrassing.
For some reason she just canât seem to ignore Haya & her embarrassing display of possessiveness towards Murtasim. Again why does she care?
Like she keeps on harping about not accepting Murtasim as her husband but the second Haya taunts her, her inner brat gets activated & she answers with the most bratty shit ever bcoz she just has to have the last word & win over Haya.
I can actually bet this is just the start. Meerubâs cat fights with Haya are going to get worse. These two will keep fighting over Murtasim, which is literally the most obvious display of a lack of self respect by these two women.
The only reason Meerub seems justified here is because sheâs the wife (which she denies/accepts as per her convenience).
I have no hopes that there will be anything remotely feminist or even logical about this show. Itâs absolutely misogynistic OTT drama. But itâs entertaining, so for now I am continuing with it. đ

Ikr murtu has his own way of taming đ
Ps even i would like murtasim to tame me like thatđ¤Łâşď¸
All of her bratty attitude as standing on murtasim shoulders as he rightly said so.. like her telling him k tumhin tou main muft main bhi na apnon when he might actually liked her since his childhood...imagine meerab falling for him and then murtasim saying the same thing
That's also symbolic.. I believe..
Falling in the swimming pool symbolizes falling in love..
He will make her "fall" in love.. she will fall, but will make him "fall" in love as well...
Murtasim is full on romantic mood and I'm all up for that...
Btw have you ever seen sang e mah there i loved Hilmand and Sherzad so much they had such an amazing chemistry for instance this scene of them
