So ig they're treating the initiation of that offer as paap. But say he asked her to do something else instead of ONS, would that still be paap? Like if he asked her to murder someone, that's wrong on every level possible. If he asked her to baby sit his pets, that's fine caue nothing is free in life. But because it was a ONS, we are really going to consider that to be paap? I really don't understand why ONS is considered such a taboo thing in India because it's a fact that people do it irl.

Hmm, I guess though murder is obviously wrong on many levels, asking her to sleep with him is more magnified as a problem for a woman in general. Another important factor is that he is her boss, so there is a position of power here which makes it a problem; perhaps it would be less of an issue if he wasn’t her boss. Because he is her senior at work, Katha might feel like he is taking advantage of her ill situation (which she did mention when he asked her for the offer). But the extent of how vile the offer is does depend on each person. Like you said, especially in the Indian society, what Viaan offered can be considered like an insult to the honour of a woman (in this case, Katha).

There is a Hollywood movie called Indecent Proposal. I haven’t watched it but I know the story, and it’s actually quite similar to KA on some levels. David and Diana are a couple who lose all their finances due to the recession. They have this dream to save their “dreams home,” so they try to win money through gambling. But after they lose everything, a billionaire offers that he will give them $1 million -- if he can sleep with Diana. And after they talk among themselves and decide, Diana does spend the night with the rich man. Though this ONS causes problems between the main couple, it doesn’t really portray the rich man as a sinner. It’s just a transactional offer. And moreover, I don’t think wanting to save a house is as much a need as wanting to save a son (though it’s arguable I guess). But it’s mainly the West culture that allows the rich man to get away, whereas for Viaan, his offer is perceived as way more wrong than perhaps it could have somewhere else. But in my opinion, him being a boss does make it more wrong.

Viaan “ tester” ..failed in the test , couldn’t create any impression .. I was funny the way he was telling “

Never looked back ... 🤣

S*x is one area with such taboo in India , most of the time is a child ask doubt a doubt about that to parents they will scold the child ( those days ) I don’t know how it is now

Sex is Sin , is also like that instilled in people !

Katha went over board with Viaan accusing him too much not looking that he took care of her as a human , next day office also he was disappointed but not indecent !

ONS paap ... that dialogue of Katha annoyed me

OG the FL character was not this righteous 🤣

I think it has some thing to do with me .. I can’t stand people self proclaimed righteous ones !

one reason is also language. I heard a prof once say 80% of a culture is expressed through language and that effects how we communicate and our ideas on things. so am not a linguist and my hindi is atrocious. so we have 3 words in hindi right -- pyar, ishq, mohabat and pyar is actually on the bottom of the list.

in many languages, including tamil, we have a whole love word list and not one word to describe love. all of these words have degrees of heirachy in terms of how we perceive the emotion is in terms of purity. so in many indian langauges, the word for devotion or godly love is the highest form of love. next comes the word for affection which is strictly used between family members. then the word for love of all people or animals or things. then the word for compassionate love or something between friends... after all of that comes the word for romantic love. so imagine, already romantic love is further down the chain because it is seen as highly flaky, not consistent and unreliable. it is not pure form of love and subject to corruption. that idea is inbuilt in our language and literature. sexual love is on the very bottom of the love word list. so that itself tells you that from a literature, language view, our view on physical desire is that it is kind of impure emotion. hope that makes sense. if it doesn't, ignore! sorry, not a linguist. 😆

even with the garewals, I didn't get why she didn't chat up mamaG and beg and plead. we can see that mamaG was so efficient that she made the grizzly bear cry when he didn't get soup and he agreed to stop being pigheaded. again, another plot hole. I guess we are supposed to see it as pride but again I am not sure I buy it. if you are thinking of desperate measures like suicide, then there is nothing below dignity in going to your mother-in-law and begging her to do something.

and lets not forget pyramid. she is so mad at viaan. for that, she could have just sold her designs to pyramid and closed her eyes.

Yup, the plot holes are glaringly obvious. I was watching the Ons offer episode with my sister and the first thing I asked was why in the world Katha wouldn’t say ASAP that she needed the money for son who has cancer. It just doesn’t make sense. It’s crazy because in school I used to give such detailed excuses for why I didn’t come one day or didn’t complete the assignment, and I basically didn’t have any actual reason. 😆 But here, the situation is serious and she has a reason. A very important reason for the money.

And ya, I also don’t get why she just keep persuading the mamaG for the money. They are wealthy, and they are his grandparents. If the in-laws were both impatient and evil then I can understand, but here mamaG actually wants to repair the relationship between her and her grandson. What better opportunity to ask for money??

As for the Pyramid offer, I can respect if she believes that the ons is better than taking the bribe. That’s her choice/opinion. But I feel that then her arguments should also depict that.

Also, the amount of times Katha mentions what Viaan will answer “above” when he is dead just makes me laugh even during a serious scene 😆 Like come on, are you going to ignore that he seems like a healthy, young man who has years to live or do you want him to drop dead now so that he can go answer “above” about the ONS?? 🤣

There are loopholes in the plot but honestly I willingly ignored them because this is ITV. This entire story would not be possible if we think realistically, even in the OG.

The ONS, I only saw it as a transactional offer. Katha was desperate but she knew what she was getting into.
