A woman can choose whether she wants to let her ex know about the baby. She’s not obligated to tell him they made a baby together. This is assuming mom does not need any child support from said dad.

I’m a little conflicted about birth certificate- at the time Akshara had Abhinav write his name she had heard Abhi clearly reject her and her baby. Could she have left the spot blank and turned into a single mother? Or just put a bogus name to secure a future for Abhir with a father figure? I don’t know. The right thing to do would be to put the real fathers name.

A step dad should not automatically become father of child, I feel he has to adopt the child and as a step dad his papers move forward quicker.

Just of curiosity,

1. can a mother nominate someone to be a child's parent without the child's father knowing of his/her existence unless under special circumstances i.e father is a criminal etc.

2. If a mother remarries, is the new husband automatically deemed the father of the child

I know 100% makers wouldnt care two hoots about legality. But this has just been bugging me, so thought I would post it in case there is anyone with legal knowledge in this forum.

thanks Ash, cant believe we are having this discussion over a fictional show. Anyway now that we have started, does this mean Abhir is not entitled to any of the birla fortune?

Agree with you, that was a silly move putting Nav in the birth certificate. She should have left it blank. Nav would have been just as happy just being called papa.
