May be he might have given up the Canadian citizenship when the trouble was sorted out and assumed that Jasmine would have annulled the marriage too. But Jasmine might have kept it to blackmail Kapoors later.

This whole Advait-Harleen marriage can go two ways:

1) Admat separation and Nekham uniting

2) Nehmat stands with Advait, helps him disprove the whole thing and fail Jasmine's plan. They'll grow close and it can lead to their second, proper marriage.
