Absolute BS. If this law is actually enforced (which it’ll take circa 3yrs I think?) they stand to lose a lot of tourism. Kinda hope they do. Hit ‘em where it hurts and it’ll help them come to their senses.

I am not aware of Indonesia's political climate. But I am going to guess this is to distract from something else as oligarchies do.

Unsurprisingly, a quick Google search shows that the law in unenforceable. It only exists to be coded in to law to give an excuse to arrest dissidents.

I hate sensationalist news stories and I wish Twitter would die out. The broader law criminalizes insulting the government in Indonesia, and everyone is clickbaiting a non issue.
