That's nice to know.
The initial concept was nice although I didn't understand ki ye log sirf mechanical engineering padh rahe the ya phir saare engineering branches ek saath aur saath physicists v the kya? Itna jyada knowledge 🥲🤣🤣🤣. Idk why I loved Vidhushi's character so much untill towards the end of when I quit watching. I loved the initial episodes.
Haha, yes, they kept getting in stuff from other branches too. Sirf mechanical engg nahi, bahut saare classes ka introductory lesson ek saath de diya 😆
Vidushi was the way she was because she had grown up in a setting where she had to fight for even basic luxuries. You could emphasise to some extent why she was jealous of the other students and wanted to do better than them, in order to elevate her own presence.
The love story was something I did enjoy in the initial parts because I was a teenager back then. But now I realise how toxic it was. Coming from a strong girl like the FL, she wouldn't repeatedly go back to a person like ML after his repeated attempts of destroying her career. I mean thode time k liye love story dikhate v toh they should not have been the endgame. Their love story was too repetitive making it lose the charm. It was a great opportunity to show a strong and determined girl move on from a narrow-minded boy.
Well, I was a late teenager too, and honestly speaking my rationale had nothing to do with their personalities. I just thought he was way too mean to her about her educational abilities and she was also heartless at times when it came to his pain, so they should not vibe together. I did not understand the extent to which it is toxic to have such a relationship, but completely agree with the way you laid it out too. And yes, a girl like Sanyu would have NEVER been with someone like Randheer if she was expected to be his reform camp and he was expected to be her punching bag. Well analysed 👏
But I loved how it attempted to show the negative effects of parents actions on their child through the ML. I really feel for the girls who have father's like Sanyukta . Aur kisike toh at least brothers saath dete hai but her brother was also so bad.
Renuka Sanyal never had enough time to spend with him when he needed her the most because she had to take on the reigns of being the breadwinner of the family and then was focussed on her career, and Randheer's dad was an alcoholic who he looked upto as an ideal. That destroyed him beyond repair. I wish they had not shown a working woman in a negative light like they did when Randheer disrespected her on his birthday, I got where he came from, but it hurt me more to see the poison he had in his mind for her.
As for Sanyukta's dad and family, I have personally seen girls who are NOT supported in their dreams by anyone, and have to really give it their everything to reach the stage that they do. Baap, bhai, beta, noone is there for you if it does not suit their own interests. The mother also knew what was right and wrong and supported Sanyu, but could not stand up for her. So they showed the Agarwals very realistically in my personal view. Later even when they refused to break off her marriage with that Chomu, whose name I will never bother to remember coz he was that insignificant to me, even when he was clearly emotionally and physically abusing their 'ghar ki Lakshmi' it was not surprising at all.
As a teenager I loved the show but now I would like some changes here and there as I found few things problematic. But I think there is a requirement of a show with the main concept like it with some changes though in our present times. And kuch drama toh denge hi through unrealistic tasks and all , I agree warna boring college life kaun dekhenge. All would watch a happening college life only. I loved their friendships.
Sanyukta and Kaushtiki, later Vidushi, Randheer and Jiggy, Parth, YoYo and how they became Vardhan Sir's Dream Team was an amazing journey and like I said, it is still inspiring to see a girl beat the odds and find her own even with all the roadblocks in the way.
I have both positive and negative views on it. But it was engaging though. I actually forgot many things as it has been years of watching.
One thing I will never deny about this show is that it gave me the courage to pursue my own dreams. Seeing Sanyu not take any BS from people who discouraged her, helped me disregard haters in real life too. I love this show, I will always have immense respect for that aspect.
