Is he doing this to not anger their fans? Why else would you let your 'friend' treat you this way? If my friend or even boyfriend talked to me this way, they'd be in big trouble.

In outside world he can just walk away..here he can't ..he probably feels he needs her for the game hence puts up with her non sense.. but a sensible guy like him can atleast try to make her understand that the way she talks to him is disrespectful.. I think he will be perfectly fine without her if he speaks on matters on his own without her prodding him to do so.. he just needs to believe that he can survive in the house without her..
