Andy Balbirnie, Ireland Captain and POTM: We were disappointed with losing seven wickets. It was tough, their bowlers had good variations. But we were off the blocks with Lorcan Tucker. It's amazing, kind of emotional. To come here against tournament favourites is amazing. A few of the fans in the crowd have extended their stay. Their support has been wonderful and will do a lot to grow the game back home. We have Afghanistan here on Friday, quick turnaround. Look forward to it. We were fortunate drops did not cost us but we need to improve.

ICC needs to find a place where important tournament matches are not impacted by rains. Or they need to build indoor stadiums for cricket😕

ICC changes so many rules. Even they made mankading legal. Then why they are still stuck to this unfair DLS method😕

Well rules are rules.. Some time you benefit and sometimes you are at a disadvantage.

Not feeling bad for England.. they won the 2019 World Cup due to one of weird rules of ICC which gives number of boundaries as a criteria to decide the winner in a World Cup Final game.

But yeah it spoils the mood for the viewers as they dont get to see the full match.

I wish this World Cup had Quarter Finals also. 😊

We have an action-packed triple-header lined up tomorrow. South Africa taking on Bangladesh at SCG first, followed by India v Netherlands at the same venue. Later in the night, Pakistan will take on Zimbabwe at Perth

NZ vs Afghanistan is also cancelled due to rains. Deserving teams are losing their chance to move up in points table due to rain. Kind a repeat of what happened in 2019 WC.
