On sending Sumbul to BB:
I never pressurized her. We got a call for this and yes, I was keen on her doing the show. I showed her a few clips of the past seasons and she was reluctant. I wrote a poem for her and the next morning, she made up her mind to be a part of the show. My agenda behind sending her inside the show was quite simple. Sumbul has lived all her relationships through me. Her upbringing is done by a single parent and I was worried for her and wanted to learn about the intricacies of life and different kind of people around. I guess, Bigg Boss is a brilliant platform to understand the same and hence I persuaded her to do the project.
On BB being unfair to others by calling him in BB:
I want to put it across that the makers didn’t call me. It was I, who approached the makers and requested them to make me speak to her so that she can understand about what’s going around in the house behind the back. I feel the channel is unbiased and I would hereby want to appreciate the platform to give so much importance to a young girls’ dignity. They could have randomly planned a normal conversation over the call, but they made sure to be transparent.
On Sumbul's reaction post his advice :
If Sumbul would react according to everyone else’s wish, she would be just an ordinary girl which she is not. She is special. She is intelligent and soft-hearted. She has called Shalin and Tina her sweethearts and how would it look like if she would suddenly change her behavior towards them? Wouldn’t it look like she got influenced too quickly? If it was for anyone else, they would’ve taken advantage of the situation and played the sympathy card and would’ve made Shalin- Tina the biggest villains, but what did Sumbul do? She went to them and apologized. She is getting to understand things and will surely act accordingly. I’m proud of the way she handled the situation.
