Today's episode was okay-ish. Zoya really took away too much time and her track is so negative that it did not make me feel the normal happiness I get after watching an episode of Habs. Apart from the scene where she is applying the face mask and Amir was playing video games, it was pretty depressing to see their relationship play out. Neither has any sense of responsibility and Zoya has become even more unrestrained in her behaviour with the indulgence of Amir. Too much ketchup is leading her towards some kind of emotional bloodbath.
Btw Janice is really pretty. When she took off the mask, she looked so nice without any makeup and with serum all over her face. Also I liked their terrace...they have birds and all. And I am liking Amir's dad. He seems like a pretty fair sort of person. When his wife complains of Zoya, he says, your own son isn't all that either and it was expected he will like someone like Zoya. His name is Wajid btw.
Then there was Qudsia's breakdown but seriously the woman is very undeservedly blessed with daughters who never let her hit the rock bottom she deserves. Bano is such a trump for keeping herself sane despite all the chaos that goes on in that household and still finding time to console Ayesha. Like can someone please give her an award for the world's best sister! Also one very important thing she told Ayesha today I really liked...that if you want Basit to think highly of you, then you must think highly of yourself as well.
And then finally we had Soha's entry. Basit's scene with Soha was underwhelming after all the expectations but nonetheless, he never felt anything for this woman so it makes sense that he will treat her that way. Why Soha came to visit him remained a mystery. But I am guessing she has got an idea that all is not well in Basit and Ayesha's marriage. Also since when did she become a 'purane dost'? Like she met and spent time with Basit for a few weeks at the most and that was it.
And one thing, Soha's dad was at Basit's wedding. How come Soha doesn't know that Basit is married? Unless she is pretending to be surprised. She did hide the fact from him that she met Ayesha before entering the house.
I loved that scene when Basit is sitting in the room and the new nurse comes in and then asks if she can come in. I was literally thinking to myself that why are you asking when you have already entered when Basit said the same thing! 😆 She is cute and since she has no name till now I will call her Zubeida.
Basit missing Ayesha, thinking of her, not being able to do anything was wonderful to watch and I wish we had 40 minutes of that alone. Those measly few minutes of him thinking of Ayesha's words I will watch over and over again now for the rest of the week.
I think Ayesha has realised that Qudsia is plotting to get her married to Yawar after his sister said those things to her. Please let her get angry at Qudsia!
Also the cab driver taking an upset Ayesha round and round the city streets was such a nice touch! I have had the same thing happen to me when I was very sleepy one day. I am guessing cab drivers are the same, be it in India or Pakistan! 😆
But yes, there was too much negativity in today's episode what with Zoya stealing money (very much expected from her and she got away with it too this time as well!)
I liked the fact that Qudsia is shown to have messed up the deal and been tricked by Zafar, their landlord. She thinks she is such a smart person and she deserves to realise that she is foolish. But unfortunately, Bano is trying to take control of the situation and as always Qudsia's actions will go unpunished. I am liking Bobby phupo as well despite her eccentricities. When Qudsia spills the beans about the deal she made with Basit to Bano and Bobby phupo, Bobby categorically says that they will not tell Ayesha this since she is already going through so much.
The promo did not air on tv today. So waiting for the youtube channel to air it. Also the show wasn't a full 40 minutes..barely ran to 35 I think.
One thing to be said, the characters in this show have a steady arc. They never act out of character. Like Zoya in today's episode...what she did....the show had been building to this point all this while. Also it was good juxtaposition placing Zoya stealing the money with Basit thinking about how Ayesha did not take anything with her from all the expensive stuff she had received after their marriage.
Poor Basit, he picked up the phone but then realised the argument they had ended their last meeting with rules out a phone conversation now. Whatever he does now, he will have to do in person. Please let that be in the next episode. 😒
