I don’t think so their core character is changed other than both growing egos which wasn’t there before.

Akshara - she’s always been selfless, her biggest strength her love, capability to do anything for the ones she loves.

Abhimanyu- practical, realistic, always fair, unbiased, never liked Aksharas sacrifice for anyone.

More than anything both are in too much pain. She’s in pain because the person who is her world - didn’t understand her and believe her. Got angry on her for doing something for him. Insulted her family by getting media.

And him - well where to start? Full 1 year he was clueless, sleepless, facing people as well as his own dear Taiji torturing him with Akshara Kairavs whereabouts when he didn’t know them. He didn’t know why she went. And now - Anands family torturing him every day, shouting on him when he’s right, Manjiri is in coma. He’s a dead carcass. And when u don’t have anything left - u don’t even remember u should show compassion because u are numb. Still he went for first aid box when he saw Akshara hurt. But didn’t go behind after she went ahead. In order to give affection - u need to have it inside u - and he’s empty and numb now. He’s gone beyond pain. Doesn’t feel anything. Doesn’t mean his character changed. Pain caused a temporary change in him and he’ll be back soon. So will she!
