Had Sadia been there, things could have been very different, she was always the person with the right advice for Ayesha. Both Basit and Ayesha need therapy. Basit for his traumatic past and coming out of it and Ayesha for improving her communication with Basit as well as learning how to deal with someone who has deep rooted trauma. I don't support basits reaction (slapping fahad , throwing ayesha out of his life and his house ) , but I understand the reasons behind it...just as in the last epi ayeshas actions were wrong but there was a justification for it ..

Also, a troubled childhood may have a lasting impression on one's mind , no doubt that basit needs a lot to come out of it ..all his reactions connect to his trauma and his prejudiced thinking ..he can't see the reason behind sadia leaving his father when he was rich , they had a son , basically a good and comfortable life which every woman wants ...he still doesn't realize the emotional needs of a person needs to be taken care of ..his dialogue abt giving riches and comfort to ayesha would have satisfied her is just a reflection of his twisted thinking ...this is exactly what his journey is all about..the day he knows why sadia moved out , he will know what ayesha expects from.him.

What I expect from ayesha is some maturity . Fahad also needs to realize his mistake.

Thank you for the appreciation ☺️ Very well said, Basit needs to understand that once your basic material needs are met, there are other needs which require fulfilment. He’s never seen a healthy relationship between a man and woman. Had he seen that he would have realised that women generally have more emotional needs and that they need to be loved in different ways.

I agree with you that this is Basit’s journey of understanding what a true relationship is. The day he understands why Sadia left, is the day he would know of Ayesha’s expectations. This situation should give the necessary push to Ayesha to communicate more with Basit. He is not averse to learning. In fact, I have a feeling that he would let Ayesha take the lead in this relationship if she’s willing.

While I am in complete agreement that Basit’s reaction is valid, yes it is, and that Ayesha has been stupid not to tell him, yes she has, but I will forever have a problem with Basit’s response.

The ease with which men are shown to throw women out of homes, is a pet peeve of mine in desi soaps. Every time, this is done, we seem to be “showing the woman her place”. If the situation was flipped, she would be shown to leaving the home. So in the end, this home was never her’s then. This is a huge slash to a woman’s sense of security. Women are told to make the man’s house a home, only to be then pushed off, when there is a MU.

For me, we all seem to understand Basit’s reaction because he was right in that, on one hand, Ayesha was being secretive and on the other, he never showed any patience towards women given his background with his mother. Ayesha on the other hand, had no trust in Basit, because she was never given that status in his life, that she was constantly seeking. Ayesha was not allowed to work, she was made to stay home and now she is thrown out of that home, in a way to show she has no rights over that home.

To me where the writing has completely failed -

1. had they shown the couple actually coming closer post the death and the graveyard visit, we would have gotten a better understanding of the status quo of their feelings toward each other.

2. Had they written this conflict better, Ayesha’s refusal to tell Basit would not make her look like a fool, which she has never been throughout the show.

It’s unfortunate that while the shows supporting characters and the male character has some clarity, the writer has messed up the female character.

what’s worse, there are lots of direction flaws - chopped shots during breakfast, repeated dialogues that go no where, illogical interactions frankly just kill the enjoyment of a good show.

So sorry, still in the process of reading everyone’s inputs. But wanted to put down my thoughts
