India's highest ODI score against England and only the second highest total conceded by England as well. The entire stadium rise as one to applaud one of the best ODI knocks you'll ever see in women's cricket. Harmanpreet Kaur, take a bow! She just put up a clinic on how to take the game deep and go ballistic at the end. Also, worth mentioning that it was a chanceless knock from the Indian skipper. She stitched 4 vital partnerships with Smriti, Harleen, Pooja and Deepti - and each of them turning out to be better than the previous ones. Once Smriti got out around the 100-run mark, both Harleen and Harmanpreet did well to negate the spin duo of Dean and Ecclestone. They also did well to find timely boundaries to keep the scorecard ticking and just when Harleen decided to switch gears, her excellent maiden fifty was cut short by a slower ball from Bell. Both Pooja and Deepti did well to play the second fiddle in the final 10 overs as Harmanpreet switched gears effotlessly to claim her 5th ton in ODI cricket. Not only did she hit the ball clean, but also showed excellent anticipation to second guess the variations from the relatively inexperienced bowling line-up. India will and should be mighty pleased with their efforts with the bat. Can the bowlers back it up and guide the visitors to a series win?

Harleen Deol: The first ones are special, I'd been prepared for a long time. I just enjoyed myself. It's a beautiful track, you can hit through the line. Harman was outstanding, she's great and is getting greater. For the bowlers, mixing the pace is key. We have different plans for batters and will look to execute them.

India have par and premium on a belter. Mandhana was brilliant, Yastika was proactive. Deol took time to get in but managed to shift gears. Harmanpreet did everything to perfection, her sweeps clean, manipulations of fields was wily, and pacing perfect. Cross started well, as did Kemp. But apart from Dean, everyone was taken apart at the end. Kemp was particularly thrown off by Kaur, who used the crease laterally and played with field placements. But this is her debut and she'll have time and opportunities to learn and improve. Jones, the skipper, went with only five bowlers, partially due to Capsey's finger-injury and maybe it was a tactical choice to some extent. That will be scrutinised but, for now, it's time to bask and celebrate in HarmanVille.
