I can’t comment much on last night’s audition as missed most of it. Watched from Dil dewaana from film maine pyar kiya.

HR was ott with compliments. Will show your audition to Sooraji blah blah.

Summarizing my take on the 1st weekend.

1. The drama is becoming unbearable! Half the airtime was spent on OTT drama in bags and bags, and that too from Sarojini Market!

2. I know many of the contenders from before, so nothing new for me there. Neither Senjuti nor Bidipta and Anushka have evolved to any significant levels beyond their previous shows (based on this one showing). I have a weakness for Senjuti from Saregamapa, but no sparks flew for me when I heard her audition. Anushka may survive the next cut, she is capable of better and is a very young singer with some talent.
Vineet is HR's protégé. He will be in the finals much like Nihal (who deserved it though). I am not a big fan of his singing but clearly he is a sort of PD slot occupier in IL13.

3. Of the new faces for me, the one I liked the most was Rishi Raj Singh. I'd like to hear one or two more songs before deciding if I should follow him in the show.
Navdeep Wadali will be a one track singer incapable of any meaningful variation. I don't like these type of singers in reality shows because they are not tested enough and given preferential treatment when others are forced to bear the brunt of variation and topical relevance.
Deboshmita Roy sounded nice but that one song is hardly enough to draw any conclusions. She is in the Anushka Banerjee / Neelanjana Ray bracket for me as of now, a sleepy version of them. How she handles high scales will be of interest to me. Not sure why she got a Golden Mike for that performance.
Chirag Kotwal, Shivam Singh and Rupam Bharnarhia I have no comments on. Not my type of singer.
