What I think is, IF mentioned that Sai will be heartbroken that Virat didn't talk to her even meeting after so many years, so this Virat storming off is to create another misunderstanding in Sai's mind that what she was thinking all along was right, I don't think she'll anytime soon know that Virat assumed her to be dead.......she'll think that he hates her......Also the reason to hide Savi's paternity from him....

Virat's reaction is kind of expected, he will run away in anger but will come back soon, it's not like he can now start his Nayi shuruat with Pakhi without confronting Sai after knowing that she's alive and is living with a kid, which is his in all probability......so he will go, maybe to find out about Savi.....
