For those who attended school in the early 80s , maggi packets were distributed free to the students with a note to ask mother's to cook it when hungry after school ...

We did not understand what positioning strategy was all about in marketing but I particularly recollect clearly the first Maggi cooked ( rather experimented ) by me and my sister in which we threw the seasoning away thinking it to be a sticker and cooked a bland Maggi instead ....Ads on TV hadn't appeared then 😀

Grandmother was particularly upset that we had eaten something obnoxious ( she later referred to it as boiled worms ) and strict warning was given never to take anything distributed for free in schools 😀

'बस बाई बस' या कार्यक्रमाचा आजचा पहिला episode.. सुप्रिया सुळे आल्या होत्या.

अतिशय सरळ, diplomatic आणि स्पष्टपणे उत्तर दिली त्यांनी.

बोलणं पण एकदम रोखठोक पण तितकंच सावध ही होत त्यांच.

एकंदरीत बरा वाटला episode.

उद्या अमृता खानविलकर आहे😡(मला अजिबात आवडत नाही ही).

That is one of the weirdest traditions I have seen. Never knew about it.

And non veg food served at the wedding...that's not common too.

@bold - it's interesting that the school agreed to distribute notwithstanding the nutritional value of Maggi.

There were a few items that I had made my parents buy after watching advertisement in print or on TV....Maggi noodles was one of them. I distinctly remember the day I ate Maggi for the first time. Everybody at home refused to taste it except my Mama who was visiting us that day. That brave soul volunteered and him and I ate the whole packet of Maggi in masala flavor; we prepared it together too😃.

I think Maggi used to come in 2 or 3 flavors when it was launched in India.
