Exactly. And irony is most of the world who started watching ptv or became a fan of ptv including me was because of Zindagi Gulzar hai which was a college haters to lovers romance.

I don't see zgh as a college romance. Them in college was just a part of the main story. Also neither of them gave me college going younger wala feeling. Fawad looked way too old to be a college student. Only sheryar looked like a college boy.

That's why most of the times itv couple chemistry clicks. I have heard ekta is very particular about the chemistry of her leads and even matches their horoscopes 🤣. During kitni mohabbat hai days karan used to say he used to do chemistry test with all the selected girls for arohi's character and ekta would never become satisfied and then she immediately cast kritika after a single look test with Karan. They are now one of the most popular itv jodis ever.

In PTV i guess they just cast actors according to who is available or who will do justice to a particular character or based on connections rather than on the basis of chemistry. So sometimes it's a miss sometimes a hit. Also if i am not wrong most of the popular jodis became popular due to the entire story and direction of the drama rather than purely based on chemistry. When both the leads are well written and have proper development and the actors are good the leads will definitely appeal to the audience. More than the raw chemistry between the leads it's other factors that keep the audience hooked. In yakeen ka safar the leads don't meet until the second half but still it managed to be a hit and kept people hooked because the entire storyline was good.

With ASA the only thing thats keeping people still hooked to an otherwise normal drama is the chemistry of usmol. it's the same for MH but hamza as a character also plays a huge role than just halza's chemistry. At times hamza as a character gains more attention than halza.

With kdramas i feel most of the times the actors aren't that comfortable with each other. Like there is this distances between them and most of the intimate scenes are way too robotic at times. It's like woh log khulke nahi kar rahe. If we look into the cultural aspect then we understand why it's like that. Koreans are very particular about respecting older people and seniors and people from same age only can be considered friends. also fans don't like it when the male celebs get too close to female celebs and viseversa. So they are extremely careful of their surroundings. That kind of makes most chemistry look stiff.

In PTV

Story and direction makes the drama success because there is a limitation of intimacy.

Those were the days when Pakistani dramas used to have young actors playing lead roles.. nowadays we have 40+ guys romancing 20+ girls.

I havent watched beppanah but they looked hot in whatever clips i saw..i like chemistry when two people have same 'on - screen' age. I dont mind the age difference if they look equal on screen. Like Usama is 8 years older to Anmol but they look same age 😆

The reason i like YKS more was of the less age difference of leads

I agree. I wasn't able to watch an ITV drama for more than 100 episodes. This equals to a Pakistani drama having 50 episodes. I get bored. I kept watching Bepanah only for Harshad. ☺️
