Funny thing to see is that the father broke down mentally because he thought Maya couldn’t handle another failed marriage attempt in front of society. Truth is that Maya is a very strong girl despite everything her parents have forced her to do. Father is the weak one who shattered immediately. That being said maybe Nael could have given Maya a warning that he would not go through with the wedding. He wants to do revenge against his uncle. Okay, fine. Maya is innocent in all of this. It shows that the love has died.

it shows that love can wither and die -- sometimes because of circumstances like the person choosing someone else/getting married off, or being humiliated where you lose your worth as a person. both happened to nael. was he supposed to pine away for a married woman? he moved on and that was the right thing to do. however he could not move on from the humiliation that his uncle gave him.

but it was super obvious that nael was unhappy and was not for the wedding. maya called it and said nael was being forced. she understood that he was no longer in love with her and would have trouble accepting her. the rest of the family chose to ignore the obvious and it led to him snapping.

Wasn't the fraud shaadi enough to cause trauma to Maya for a long time? Did they also have to add in her cousin leaving her at the altar?? Why did he stay silent till the wedding day and then run away 😕 And the way he tried to justify his actions 😲🤢

Anyway, this was all too soon. They didn't have to fix Maya's wedding so soon. The fraudsters planning another fraud made a little sense because that's their job. They move from one fraud to another..Maya's parents and aunt shouldn't have done this.

The police officer who brought Maya's dad home looked nice btw..not sure if he's going to have a role later.

@red. Exactly. It is like he wanted to humiliate her and her family publically. Everytime I watch such a scene of groom escaping in a drama I wonder if such things happen in reality. But then I remember that man who was already married and was going to marry another girl.. on wedding day his mom threatened him that she won't see him again , so he escaped the marriage .

@blue I never saw him before.. but he looked good. I hope he gets good offers in future.

awida -- weddings can and do dramatically get cancelled at last minute. it can cause a lot of ruffles but then as someone put it, isn't it better and more cheaper than divorce? 🤷

nael did maya a favour -- it would have been worse if he walked out of the wedding and she ended up twice divorced. that would have been the bigger revenge in my view.

have heard of a few real life stories where the guy was forced/emotionally blackmailed into a wedding and he could not digest. so few days/weeks later, he walked out and they divorced. it was more traumatic for the girl and her family and they wished he had broken it off earlier. so nael not going through the wedding was the right call.

just to add to the story you shared and wondering who calls off the nikkah at the last minute -- this family owns a marriage hall (where weddings and receptions are held). that is part of their business. the girl shared that every year, there will be a couple of runaways (either the bride or groom). the news will spread quickly but there will still be some guests who were not informed and show up for the event. as the family is too embarassed, it will be left to the hall owner and his staff to deal with all the people. it was super routine for them that they had a format proceedure on what to do and say in such cases. she said that it all happened in families where they forced the wedding or the runaway was in love with someone else. 🤷

I agree. I prefer him running away .. divorce is more hurtfull and painfull.. but I wish he refused the marriage way before.. well. He couldn't as he is a coward. I am happy that she will be strong to face the world. And hopefully she'll marry Mikaal who is a better human.😳

This must be a difficult job for them.. but it sounds funny too 😆. Ppl keep doing wrong things.. Families still force their children to get married in this age.. seems really disturbing.. but thinking about those who were forced and got married only to get divorced later. It is more painfull.😒 Or those who live a loveless life with the wrong spouses only because they weren't able to choose their life partners .

More than nael,i would blame maya's parents and phuspho. Nael was clearly not happy, still his mother forced him. These force marriages are root cause of increasing ratio of divorces.

And that stupid nael. He never loved maya. He was just attracted towards her. Pyaar main marital status nhi dekhty.

awida -- meant to respond to your post (above) but then forgot yesterday. so I don't see nael as a coward per se because I think it takes great courage to walk away knowing that you are subjecting yourself and your family to humiliation, insult and gossip. but to stick with your gut that you are going to be unhappy in this marriage and therefore, it is better to not go through -- that takes courage. I would have called him a coward if he had agreed to his mom's demands and then did a sudden 180. however, here, he expressively kept saying "NO" but his mom refused to listen or accept. his wishes didn't matter. maya's parents understood his silence does not mean consent but they didn't want to rock the boat and ask him if he was okay. that was a mistake as well. maya's dad didn't even apologize to him and have a man-to-man chat. so the writing may not be very clear but my take as based on the dialgoue where nael said that he tried very hard to accept but could not -- suggests that for his mother's sake, he half-heartedly stopped fighting but just couldn't come around to it fully. but yea, running away on the nikkah is far far better than going on with the marriage and later divorcing.

both nael and maya would have been super miserable. she is still unable to forget tabrez and has complicated feelings. nael is still hurt and bitter by what maya's dad told him. so it was a disaster in the making.

well the cute police officer is having a role and not a cameo. he hung around and it turned out he and the younger sister were classmates in school. based on next week's promo, his family is bringing rishta for her. the parents get excited thinking it is for maya. 🙄 the dad is way too obsessed with getting maya married off.
