You have raised a great point here that what may be unusual for one person may make perfect sense for another. Loved hearing your example. I too come from an extended family and my father is one of 9 and mum 7 and everyone, they each have on average 4 kids minimum and let’s not forget uncle and aunts.
My parents are like that too. My example would be my dad’s first cousin used to live with him and he was my mother’s friend and when mum and dad got married he would be rude unnecessarily and then they had to ask him to move out.
We all have heard this story not from my parents but from him who is in his 60’s, has a wife and kids and still whines that my Dadi kicked him out. Well politely asking his father to take responsibility more appropriately 😂😂
But my both my parents always talks nicely to him and he is weirdly very nice too at times but then he goes in his funk about something that happened so many years ago. He cornered me once at a wedding and said I hope you aren’t like your dad and at first I didn’t understand but he clarified, so I said he needs to grow up and this time literally and he created such a big fuss. After that my parents basically told us kids not to engage much as we don’t understand the dynamics and best we stay uninvolved and I told him that I don’t understand a man who is weirdly obsessed over something that happened so many years ago is still in their good graces. My dad said the same thing that he is family. I thought whatever.
So having looked at that I can see why zainab keeps going back but I still don’t get why Ushna went though? I wish I can make something out of it but I just can’t. What are your thoughts on that as I am pulling blank at the moment.
