Akir kab tak
In my place most women during my mother's time used to wear saree to work than salwar or Kurtis. During school days i don't remember any of my teachers wearing anything other than saree.
Is it cultural? I do apologise for my ignorance but is it compulsory to wear a saree at work for females in India?
I first wore a saree at my sisters sangeet and hated it, the stupid pallu wasnât tied properly and it fell in front of everyone exposing my barely there boobs đđđđ so I stopped wearing them until my best friend was getting married years later and she got a designer one. Her stylist did it very well and I got compliments so I brought few but didnât know how to wear them đđ
Then later on I learned as my mother doesnât know how to wear a sari either đđ I learnt from stylist and friends mumâs đ
In our imagination anmol and usama already went on a world tour for their honeymoon đ¤Ł
Now it's shehroze and ushna's turnđ
Letâs send Ushna Shehroz too and throw his mother down the stairs in the wheelchair komolika style đđđ
Okay will check it out - my list is getting massive now đ

I am from Kerala and i think it was compulsory for teachers to wear a sari during the time i was in high school esp government schools. Now i think younger teachers wear salwar and all. But don't think any wear Western clothes. Even when i entered college most of the female lecturers who are in their late 30s or 40s used to wear saree only. The young ones mostly guest lecturers wear salwar with dupatta. In government offices also most women wear sarees. I guess cotton sarees kind of make women look more formal in a working environment as india cannot enforce western formal wears in indian offices esp government offices. Even the young women in higher positions kind of prefer sarees as it gives a more executive look than salwars.
Don't know how is it in the northern part of India. I as a malayali got a cultural shock when I stayed in Delhi for an year đ
