I also agree that good looks is not all. I have said it on this post that I don’t like good looking hero when his actions are horrible. In Dulhan Sami khan did it very well. Married someone for a bet and then denied ever marrying her. I hated his character so much. But he was brilliant in that show.

But in Dil Zaar Zaar he changed his looks to a bit average looking guy with full beard, wasn’t sophisticated, educated, or smart but he was so nice to the FL. She gets accused of having an abortion and he marries her no questions asked. Even in the end he didn’t care. That character I absolutely loved. That’s why I see sometimes actors are end game based on looks and that’s terrible. Here we got lucky that both Usama and Anmol are good looking, good actors, and have chemistry.

For me actors only matter till I watch their shows and adore their characters. Although, i do try watching their new shows as they have been my favourites in the past. For example, i will definitely look out the new shows of Anmol and Usama ,but sticking to them depends on a lot more the story and character.

Also, i watch few shows for story and few only for chemistry. Not gonna lie , i liked ASA mainly for leads and the teasers hooked me to. I loved Ushna and Shehroz's banters in teasers , i love enemies to lovers trope. Although, the discussions in forum made me to think and discuss about other characters and dynamics which made the drama more interesting apart from watching the leads.

Well, as much as i like ITV dramas for chemistry, i also feel ,they kill the essence of characters with over the top physical romance. I am done watchibg tripping and falling in every other drama. Or dupatta get stuck on hero's face. I would prefer watching Shehroz extending helping hand to Ushna ( as a sign of attraction ) than them falling over each other and have long gazes. 😆 also, the exaggerated expressions are a huge put off like you said and unrealistic tropes. 😆

I have watched Phaans, the issue was raised well. I liked the character of the one played Shehzad's mother the most.

I dislike Salman lol 😂

I really feel, the comfort factor does not play huge role in this. For example, Usama is far more closer to Zainab than Anmol . They have done three projects together and one telefilm, i could not find their chemistry good in any of them. With Anmol, even in that depressing telefilm and mediocre drama Noor, they looked great. I agree on the fact, looks does not play huge role, otherwise there have been so many good looking actors in ITV who got casted opposite each other in different dramas , all have been turned iconic. But only few of them could grab eyeballs despite having the part of same and ordinary stories. I also , dont get how this chemistry thing works. But yeah, it depends on so many factors and comfort and good looks come down in the list somewhere in my opinion. As i have seen worst enemies offscreen creating the best chemistry on screen. 😆

I agree that sometimes some actors just have this natural chemistry even if they don't have any equation offscreen. In kaisi yeh yaariya, parth and niti couldn't stand each other offscreen but their onscreen chemistry was always on point and if i remember correctly the leads from kasauti(old one) also hated each other but had amazing chemistry.

Anmol and usama physically looks good together. Even in that photoshoot they looked like a good looking young couple. All there scenes in Noor were also good even though the ml randomly fell in love with Noor and after 2 proper meeting confessed his love as well.

I guess there are two types of onscreen chemistry. One when the story and writing of the characters is good and the actors put effort into having good chemistry and the second when the actors just naturally have good chemistry. I guess one of the best example for latter other than srk-kajol is shraddha kapoor and Aditya. Ok jaanu wasn't even half as good as the Tamil version but it's watchable for me simply because Aditya and shraddha looks absolutely stunning together. Srk-kajol have become so iconic that we don't even care for story or writing. We just want to see them together onscreen. Even an iv of them together will be a hit

I agree, i also feel it depends on how two actors put their efforts irrespective of their offscreen relationship.

Also, there is a natural chemistry between certain actors which is quite visible even if they stand next to each other.

I am same too, for me to watch a show lead has to grab my attention and best way to do it chemistry between them. First show of Sami I watched was Dhani and his and Madiha’s chemistry was crackling so I ended up watching that show. Then I made sure to watch his show because of his acting. This show at first I thought was Zahid Ahmed’s show and I didn’t know either Usama or Anmol. After watching a bit I realised it’s not Zahid lol but I liked how both usama and anmol looked together 😂😂😂

Salman Saeed is unbelievably bad but I tolerate him. Will I watch his other show? Not if he is the lead but if he is with any of my favourites, then yes. His brother had an amazing chemistry with Mehwish in Dillagi and I watched that show twice lol 😂 they hug outside the home too lol 😂 which was funny. So strange that same family one bro is a very good actor and on other I won’t waste any tomatoes or eggs 😂😂😂
