Also , I want to applaud the writers and director of the drama ( barring Sufiyan's scenes) for the top notch characterisation. Each and every character is so well etched out. The drama is cliche in terms of scenes, yet different in dialogues and characterisation. When we see mostly hit romamtic dramas are the ones based on two popular concepts: Cindrella ( recent example is Mere Humsafar) where the female lead bears the tortures of her family members and male lead enters into her life and changes her life for good), other concept is Beauty and the beast: where the female lead is stereotyped in calm and caring nature and enters into man's life to change for good ( Recent example is Aye Musht e Khak).
Here, the female lead is different, she is flawed, she is stubborn, fiesty, strong yet naive but does not get manipulated for long. She does not tolerate Sadaf's behaviour and gave it back to her all the time. Her reaction to Sufiyan previously was only because she could not see an evil Sufiyan hiding behind the mask of goodness. Her reaction to her mom proved how she is so similar to Shehroze ( As mentioned by Naima many times to Ushna that how she sees Shehroze's reflection in Ushna) who is impulsive , never listened to his father's side and jumped on the conclusion to blame him.
Here, the leads are not are polar opposites hence no typical concept of opposites attract.
Also, Naima's characterisation is done so well. When we see any old typical dramas , we see such people as nice but stupid who easily get manipulated and hence this impression that nice people are mostly stupid which is not the case. You can be nice as well as strong headed which Naima is. She is nice to the people who she knows deserves her niceness and gives it back to them fiercely who do not deserve that. A strong woman who has strong observation of people who loves her son but does not blindly supports his wrongs.
Zainab , a woman again different from many dramas where such women are shown weak and made to feel guilty to marry again , but Zainab does not bow down and comes back strongly
Zainab and Naima's relationship is again different from other dramas where two women tied with one man are bound to feel insecure. Here, two women are so secure in themselves.
Wahab sahab , a man who is calm and composed but again , that is not the sign of weakness. He knows how to play his cards when needed. He respects both his wives and even being tied to two women , he comes out as a man of dignity and honour.
I also loved , how the focus is on upbringing in this drama. On one side Ushna and Shehroz who are brought up by good people, are those children who keep their mothers above themselves ( Even if Shehroz is angry with his father, it is only because of his mother, not because of his selfish intention) unlike Sadaf, Ujaifa and Sufiyan, who do everything for themselves and do not miss a second to blame their parents when things do not go their way. Well, they are brought by the people who have taught these values of selfishness and greediness to their children and hence they are facing problems because of the same children. On the other hand, Ushna and Shehroz's parents are relaxed and secure to bring up the two pure souls as Ushna and Shehroz who are responsible chlidren and have love and empathy in their hearts.
