Did you like or enjoy any of em? They're sooooo slow, I usually fast forward the parts in the middle. Once I start, I wanna get to the end the same day. 😆

I personally thought Khaani was totally whack cuz it starts off with the death knell of romance right out the gate. and a lot of these shows seem to have religious/spiritual underpinnings. Materialistic and vain people coming to a spiritual awakening of sorts seems to be a common theme. My favorite from that type is Sehr-e-zaat led by Mahira. 😳 But it gets tiresome if they're all preachy with heavy handed messages.

actually i did enjoy most of them, even the de-glamorized ones. Gave me a glimpse into life there. Turns out I saw more shows than I thought I had:

ye dil mera, alif, ishq zahe naseeb, dillagi, diyar-e-dil, maat, dastaan, yaqeen ka safar, mere paas tum ho, besharam

a Pak friend was into these shows and i got to watching with them...

As luck would have it, I also had a chance to meet some of these actors/ actresses a few years earlier when I didn't know much about them. Included Adnan Siddiqui and Humayun Saeed. They had come for an award night to London, and the channel's CEO lady invited me. I was just hanging around in the hotel and gotten talking with her.

one of the shows has aamina sheikh in a very deglam role. She was there at the awards night too looking like she was going to be performing a cabaret. I have a picture with her hugging me closely and sticking her "you-know-what" into my chest. Nothing like the role i later saw her play. :) Swear!😆

I’m currently watching Mere Humsafar and Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi. I recommend both. Loving the OST. https://youtu.be/7bpNRRrGwIg

I'll remember these two, thanks girl. ❤️ My mom who swore off bollywood in 2020 has moved to Pakistani dramas, so I'm gonna recommend these to her too. 😆

Muy interesante. 😎

I know Humayun Saeed is the guy from the movie, Bin Roye -- I watched it cuz it has Mahira and was shot in SF. There's also a drama version with the same actors.

I think the Aamina Sheikh drama you're talking about is Maat -- she's a plain Jane there while her sister is the selfish and glam/vibrant one. I find it funny that you have a problem saying boobs -- no one's about to serve you a hot cup of outrage for that, you know.

With that said, I've never bumped into a celeb, and even if I did, I already know all my thoughts processes would come to a screeching halt. 😆

Are you sure you didn't pull anything your end that had her sticking close to you like that? 😛 Asking for future reference ... if I ever bump into ARK or Chris Evans or .... well, that list is endless.

haha i've gotten warnings here for a lot less.

Yes, the serial was maat. And no, i was being very gentlemanly. Could you expect anything otherwise from me?😆

agree with your earlier comment about their shows being very preachy. I also find they have too much of the religious angle. After every line, they keep going Inshallah. Almost like they cant help themselves with anything and always need a crutch to get by.

that said, i watched the show just for the entertainment value. Didn't exactly think I was going to be watching anything very intelligent, and I wasn't disappointed in that regard.😛😆

My mum is driving me crazy with her endless Pakistani and dubbed Turkish shows. 😆
