Another one that is so illogical is KKIF on SP. same maker as GHKKPM. In the latter show leads don’t get together till after 500 episodes in the former ML marries two women on the same day, one is in Dil but not legally married, the other is in ghar and has had social marriage. ML has had suhag morning with Dil wali while ghar wali is left asking the other lead tumhare pati ka kya naam hai. 🤦🏽‍♀️Kya standard ho gaya hai ITV ka, what are they trying to show or portray through these kind of rubbish stories. I don’t watch either show but a good friend watches and she keeps regaling me with updates which makes me even more determined to stay away from such stuff.

Don’t remind me about GHKKPM. The storyline itself sounds like crap. When I saw the promo of KKIS it was the story of a pampered spoiled girl whose mother had abandoned her. Despite being a brat she had a good heart and how she gets married into a joint family that is happy go lucky and finds her happiness of staying with a family despite being married to a guy who is completely her opposite. It had the feel good vibes of Sasural Genda Phool, the old season. Check out the promo now and it’s a typical saas bahu story.

Not just this. Even other shows I saw had the same issue. The concept was amazing but the execution was crap. I tried watching Barrister Babu on Colors and the first few episodes were amazing. The sensitivity with which they handled the topic of child marriage and most importantly the male lead, Anirudh. How he empowers the little girl, helps her develop a thought process and encourage her to fly by giving her wings. It had a beautiful concept but along the way, they introduced meaningless tracks, brought unwanted villains and turned the kid into a bahu material. Before that I saw KHKT on SP for a while. I was sceptical about giving it a shot considering the heroine was Dipika and her Simar image was stuck in my head. I gave it a go after my friend recommended it and in less than a week I caught up with 45 episodes 😆 I was hooked. Loved the concept of a soap opera super star getting married into a reputed well educated family. The perception of the hero was so funny and his reaction to her TV serial was hilarious 🤣 It was too good and Dipika pleasantly surprised me as Sonakshi Rastogi and KVG as Rohit Sippy was just ❤️ The moment the hero heroine fell in love, it became a very replica of what it mocked. That show was also ruined. I tried watching Meri Dad Ki Dulhan and it seemed decent. Couldn't watch it completely coz I got busy at work. Just watched few episodes. I tried BALH2 against my better judgement since it was a Sony show and I had some hopes for it. But alas they want to pull off an Agatha Christie for what can be an Eric Segal

I always wonder - why do makers ruin their own show? Even a product company does a market study to identify their target customer base, geography, current trends etc before releasing their product.

All these production houses know what kind of shows rule ITV. When you aim to make something different, you should anticipate the risks that come with it. You are making it for a niche audience and not the mass. The mass will never appreciate a sensible show. Then y can't u stay faithful to your original vision and to the audience who will be faithful to you? Those who associated themselves with your show right from its inception? In a bid to gain more viewers, why do you screw up your own story? The new audience who want to watch it for drama sake will find it hard to connect with the show since they are unfamiliar with it and the loyal viewers who were with the show from day 1 quit. At the end of it, you end up giving it a shabby end ruining whatever little memories the faithful audience had.

Sorry for the rant but this question has haunted me for years now.

And this is me, who supported cvs through kachori kand, and Holi kand albeit cautiously 😆 …

tab I was like “yakeen hai… par ye kya hai? Kachori?chuha? Chalo, kuch to alag kar rahe hai”🙈

Now , I am like “ ye kya hai? Kyu hai? Kaise hai? Kuch bhi…🤪 full to bakwaas hai” 😳

And no, I am not saying it with frustration, I am beyond that phase…

I have to say this with pity, for the redundant itv state they have brought the series to.

And I am very sorry to see something that stirred so many beautiful people’ s minds and had them latched to a melioristic illusion… going in the such a meh 😑 path.
