As the first rays of sunlight entered his room, he got up and sat on his bed. The night had been too long for him. He hadn't been able to sleep for a single second all because her lips had touched his cheek. He knew she had kissed him to make him feel less awkward. He knew she thought of him nothing more than a friend so he had restrained himself from showing any reaction to her kiss. It hadn't been that difficult... he credited his practice sessions of self control over the past few months in office for that. Still... He was human after all and to say that her action had no effect on him would make him a liar and a fraud. The moment he closed his eyes, she came in front of him and kissed him. He had lost count of the times, he had tried to push away the image over the night. Sighing, he turned and looked at the time... It was 6 am. He suddenly had the urge to see her. Standing up from his bed, he walked towards her room. As he reached her door, he felt his jaw drop at the sight that met his eyes. A sight he had often wished to see.... his Anu stirring up from sleep. Unable to move he stood by the door watching her.

She stretched her limbs getting up from her bed. Reminiscing the wonderful dream she had just had, she giggled. Taking the pillow in her hand, the placed it on her lap and closed her eyes... If only the dream could've been a little longer. Tracing her finger on her lips, she bit her lower lip gently as her cheeks reddened. Checking in her naughty thoughts, she moaned

"Anuuujjjj... my Bholuram... my very own Bholuram... you'll make me go crazy one day..."

As the words left her lips, she quickly covered her face with her palms and giggled again.

Never in the 45 years of his life had he felt as exhilarated as he was feeling right now. His heart had been right all along. She did feel different about him and it was definitely a lot more than friendship. The reddish tint that refused to leave her cheeks told him that the 26 years of loneliness was finally over. She was definitely into him. Scratch that... she was crazy about him. Unable to contain his happiness, he leant on the wall beside her door and slid down to the floor. He brought his knees together, rested his head them and dozed off.... the night's sleeplessness catching up to him.

Half an hour later, she came out of her room fresh out of the shower. She found him by the door and panicked. Bending down to his level, she gently shook him

"Anuj... Anuj...?"

He woke up to see her concerned face inches away from him.

"Are you ok...? Why are you...?"

He quickly raised his hand and placed a finger on her lips.

"I am fine, my Anu... Just sleepy... you didn't let me sleep yesterday, na... thats why..."

"Me? What did I do?"

Grabbing her hand in his and clutching it tight for support, he stood up. She straightened herself and was about to repeat her question when his husky voice reached her ears.

"Bol du?"

She felt little knots forming at the bottom of her stomach.

"Yes..."

He leant closer to her and whispered

"Bol du...?"

She shut her eyes and nodded. He softly blew on her cheeks. Seeing them colored the instant his breath met them, he smiled satisfied. Moving closer to her ear, he whispered

"Next time... whenever you get the urge to protect me... you know... from unwanted glances... aim for the lips... I would sleep better..."

Saying so, he pulled away and walked to his room, leaving a completely flustered Anu outside her room contemplating whether all of it was real or a figment of her fantasy.
