He clicked his tongue frustrated at the fact that she had been avoiding him for the past two days. She sent his meals and medicines through GK, peeked in through the door to see if he actually completed the food and took his pills but never came in. He had called her out as soon as he saw her by the door today during dinner but she had run away. He couldn't understand the reason for her changed behavior. He felt a strange sense of unease as his overthinking brain started blaming him for making her uncomfortable. Shaking his head, he decided to clear it once and for all. If she felt uncomfortable she could always go back. He would never hold her back.

As expected, she was in the kitchen doing dishes.

"Anupama..."

She looked up at him, a little confused at the tone of his voice

"You wanted something....?"

"No... I mean yes.... I feel kind of suffocated... you know being cooped in since the surgery... so..."

"So...?"

"As the doctor told I am improving and has advised short walks... I was thinking why not take one..."

"Now? Did you see the time? It's 9 pm...."

"Mmmm... I was thinking of going to the nearby park..."

She looked at his determined look and sighed.

"If you have already decided... why ask me?"

"Because... I want you to come with me..."

"Me?"

"Yes... woh... GK and Toshu have already retired for the night and you know I can't go alone.... so... can you come please?"

He made his best puppy face. She clicked her tongue and took the towel drying her hands knowing she would never be able to resist that face ever.

She breathed in the cool air of the night, a satisfied smile spreading across her face as she snuck glances at the well built man walking by her. She didn't know what made her feel so happy and peaceful tonight. Was it the sky that was filled with stars tonight or was it him, her together under the same sky? She decided it was definitely the latter.

"Anu..."

"Hmm?"

"Shall we sit here for sometime?"

He pointed at a bench sheltered under a large banyan tree. She nodded. As they settled down at both ends of the bench, she looked at him shifting uncomfortably.

"Anuj... are you alright? Is your head painig?"

"No... No... I uh... I wanted to... Anu... Can I ask you something?"

"Hmm?"

"Did I do something wrong?"

"Huh?"

"No... you have been behaving weirdly for the past two days and... I... uh... don't get me wrong... you are my habit now... I know I shouldn't get the habit... but... I miss you, Anu... if I don't see you everyday... I... am sorry... I..."

She looked at him fumbling and fell in love with him all over again. How could she not? As she looked into his eyes, she found that it held no accusation for her... only guilt... How adorable can this man get? she thought. Here she was avoiding him to control herself and he had thought it was because of him.

"It's not because of you... sorry... I... uh... got carried away with work... sorry... really sorry..."

"Really?"

He let out a relieved breath and his tensed features relaxed. She felt her heart melt at the sight. The sound of a piercing whistle brought her to reality

"Wohoo... what a handsome man..."

Two young girls walking by the park stood ogling at Anuj. He gave an awkward smile while she felt a pang of jealousy strike her. She glared at them hoping they would leave but when they didn't make any signs of leaving she decided she had to do something. After all... it was HER man they were ogling at.

She moved closer to him and wrapped her hands around his arms. He looked at her shocked. She simply smiled, reached up and planted a soft kiss on his cheeks as if it was the most normal thing to do. Ignoring his startled expression, she nestled closer to him and placed her head on his shoulder. She looked up slyly to see the girls silently leaving them. Taking a few seconds longer than necessary, she slowly pulled away from him, gently unwinding her arms from his hand. Looking up, she saw him still frozen with shock.

"Woh... I saw you were uncomfortable... thought of helping you out..."

When he still didn't react, she lightly pinched him.

"Ah..."

"Sorry... you were not listening... shall we go home? It's already late...."

He nodded dazed unable to understand if all this was real or if he was still inside some beautiful dream of his. As he looked at her stand up getting ready to leave as if everything was normal. He decided not to overthink.

"Uh... Thanks Anu... you did so much for me.. those girls... sorry... uh... I..."

She mentally face palmed.

"Shut up. You really need to get your head checked. Let's go home. It's getting late."

Sensing by her tone that she was irritated and unable to understand what made her snap at him suddenly, he settled for the most logical explanation his brain provided.

"Oh well.. women and their mood swings..."
