What i dont like about itv historicals is that they never attempt to make a "fictional" historical romantic drama / romcom / thriller or fantasy but always pick one historical leader or king and present a whole biography out of it. Even that Maharaj Ki Jai Ho ridiculously linked Mahabharat with it and became controversial when they could have easily made it fictional.. 😶

Now if someone gives me the example of Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aayi then i would better shoot myself !!! 🌝

Chandrakanta both versions of 2017(though Colors one was trash) and Hatim both versions. Yes its book stories but it can be altered time to time and show stories had only basic things from book. And also that Malinga show but weak and boring characters ruined the show. Aladdin was obviously there but it had a teen couple.

Sometimes I too feel they should have not used Mahabharat in MKJH but then think that agar aisa nahi karte to show ka concept nahi ban paata. Shows like Princess Dolly Aur Uska Magic Bag and Jadoo High(with adult lead characters though) needs to return.

Okay the main issue may be that our ITV makers are too kanjoos who may not want to spend so much money to bring such shows. I still doubt if Porus was really made from 500 crores😕. The kind of show you want Triangle PH can make it but they are not active from over 2 years. May be the abrupt end of their 2 shows in 2020 put them in losses like Prithvi Vallabh PH.

Also even if they want to bring anything they have to strictly keep it for decided number of finite episodes like MKJH did with 50 episodes bhale hi fans kitna bhi trend karw ya channel nautanki kare.

Actually we need new production houses which will be good at historicals and other genres. These historical production houses like Contiloe and all are so crap ! They bring 50 episodes with absolutely brilliance and the rest goes haywire. In today's date TV channels should give chances to new productions that are more strict towards script (any genre) and think less about trps.
