Not only ipl its applies to whole ITV

My take on why tv viewership is decreasing day by day

1. After COVID in most of regions star channels are no.1 & had created big monopoly with help of remakes so viewers are solely depends upon star channels for daily entertainment (jalsha, plus, pravah, asianet, maatv, & vijay tv also as its no.1 in fiction)

2. All leading channels (star channels) have most of longest running shows and they had already reached to its saturation point so ppl already lost their interest

Obiviously ppl also watch other channels but star channels reach is high and more or less right now they are loyal to star channels (it means evn if other channels continuosly bring new show they will not pay their attention to them like zee/colors shows or zee marathi shows)

They will stop watch serials but they are not gonna watch other channels

3. In leading channels except jalsha (from star side) no one is creating new shows for primetime evn tho their primetime shows had already become very monotonous

Wahi, I believe ki SP ko changes karte rehne chahiye the primetime me even if the shows were always in top 5, Ghumlie ko early timeslot de dena chahiye tha, YHC ko 11pm, ye sab risks le sakte the and isse monotony bhi hatt ti.

Chalo kuch aisa likha tumne to which i can agree on. 🤭

So Star should understand that and stop with the longest running format totally and bring finite series toh phir once they reach saturation point viewers will wait for another. Star Jalsha is doing great at this point they are axing shows immediately once it hits the bottomline. Right now Starplus should be the next to do that.

Issliye maine bola thaa 7 shows ko early slot pe waste karne se accha thaa current primetime shows ko evening pe daaldete aur unko Saakk, mhrw, zmga, chiku, vidrohi, anns etc shows se replace karte.

Before COVID top 5 me bahut channels ke show aate thy, like 1/2 star ke, 1/2 colors ke, 2 zee ke but after lockdown its clearcut monopoly of star.... Viewers are superglued to their channels .... So evn if other channels brings any new show it doesnt work at all

Except star i think sirf UD & bhagyalaksmi hi kahi na kahi successful rahe hai recent yrs me

I would say only UD not even Bhagyalakshmi because Bhagyalakshmi never touched 2.5 whereas UD has hit 3.1. So its clearly Star's monopoly.

Yup, MHRW would have done great at 11pm, ANNS at 10:30(Just like the rumors), SAAKK at 7:30 or 8 etc etc, would have worked out.

At that time YHC nd all were doing well so uss time thoda risky tha hi but i think right now best time hai primetime ko thoda shuffle karne ke liye

ZMGA at 9:00 pm. Perfectly romcom family drama. No yaar SAAKK totally deserved 8:30 pm / 9:30 pm. Uss waqt toh YRKKH ki haalat bohot kharab thi (Same condition now) they could have just given it a farewell and alag se introduced Icchenodee's remake with Harshad Pranali. Mhrw at 10:30 pm / 11:00 pm would have rocked the show was actually different and had great viewership on Hotstar. Same with ANNS both were in Top 5.
